Hey guys I just started my revo 3.3 up and it seems to have a pigging sound when it is running its running great just seems to have a ping it is shifting great now have temp at 245 to 255 the only thing I have changed is the air filter oil I use. I ran out of traxxas oil and the only thing the LHS had is duratrax oil so I used that. Any ideas????

Also my brakes are going I just ordered new ones are they hard to change?

Thanks Guys

Oh man! Last time I heard a "pigging" sound is when I blew my transmission gears. I accidentally did this when I tightened the poop out of my spur gear. To find out if it's too tight stick the smallest hex wrench into the other end of the thing the spur gear is connected to (should be a small hole, just stick the wrench through it). If you can't spin the spur it's way too tight. Loosen up the bolt on the end of the spur gear and hopefully you should be good from there.

But I don't think your going to be very happy, seems like you broke some teeth inside your gear box!

Brakes arn't that bad. But since you probably screwed your gears up you'll have to take out the transmission reguardless. There's 4 screws on the bottom holding it on along with the skidplate, then disconnection the drive shaft from the transmission (little screw holding it on).

It could very well also be the messing between the spur and bell gear. I don't know, wait for the pros to give you some advice.
Goodluck!!

humm it sounds like it is coming from the pipe not the grears its shifting great it even pings at a idle. engine starts right up though and runs strong??

Is there a crack in the header could cause funny noises. Also have you pulled the motor just to check it out. It dosnet take long and gives you a good look at whats going on. But if its pinging at idle idk thats a tough one...How about berrings maby you blew one or one is dry and not functing correctly. Kinda funny.

What plug/fuel are you running? It could be detonating the fuel early on you or something. I've had BB's do that when I ran a hot plug. I guess the sound was the piston fighting the explosion on the way up.

humm I brought it up there they could not find a problem and when I got home fired it up and it ran great no ping?? STRANGE
