Hi!
I am after pics of the Savge with different tires on - Proline 40 series RoadRages, BigJoes and stock for coparison. I want to know the difference in width and height. A pic with all three together would be great...
Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Savage on Left (Standard T-Maxx Size Tires)
Tires: Imex Baja
Wheel: Team Orion Revolver

Savage on Right
Tires: Big Joe 40 Series
Wheel: Velocity 6

I just scooped up a pair of Big Joe's and slapped them on some Trinity TRC 2K4 Rims. I will post some pics later.

Sweet pics, I saw some HUGE tires/rims at my LHS for the savage 21, what are the larges t wheels that you can get for the savages?

Yeah the Jumbo Kongs are way to big in my opinion. I have Ufo wheels and mayhem tires. They are cool if you like big tires and they dont take away too much power or handling. The only thing they take away from is wheelies.

Thanks for the pics!

How are the Big Joe's on pavement? Can they be used as an allround tire?
And will I loose much power/wheelies (I have the picco.26)?
Is the original servo useless with these tires?
I also really like the looks of the roadrages, but they are strictly onroad I guess...

You could say that I am a bit confused - cannot deside which tires to go for ;)

go ahead and get your self a better servo. The stock one will burn out eventualle.

espen73, I have seen the Big Joes run fine in all conditions (street, dirt, grass, clay, etc..). They aren't race tires, but are good for bashing.

You will definitely need to upgrade your steering servo if you want to push those bigger tires around. The stock servo might do it, but I doubt that it will last long. I would think that the plastic gears inside would eventually strip.

As far as loosing power, I would say that you won't have as much torque or off-the-line power as compared to stock. That's simply because you have added alot of weight w/ the 40 Series tires. But you can always change your gear ratio to compensate that if you want.

And yes, the roadrages are made just for the street. Your traction should really suck if you drive them off-road. There just won't be any tread for the tire to bite onto the dirt.

espen73, what exactly are you trying to do? Are you looking for a good bashing set-up? Let us know, and we can help you out a little better.

Later....

I highly recommend the big joes for all around use, I just got them last week mounted on mambo rims, ran my sav all weekend on all kinds of surfaces to see if I noticed a difference with the big joes, you get better traction and wider foot print, how can you go wrong, but I was honestly shocked to see how much they helped the sav handle cornering especially on the road, I was able to take corners much faster with out flipping the truck, and I was still able to pull wheelies and I’m running the stock 25 and stock servo, also as an added bonus the big joes look awesome, got a ton of compliment at the local track, just my opinion but you wont be sorry going with the big joes.

I've also got Road rage 40's on Outback Welds and Zombie;s on HB Predators but I don't have any pics of those. When I put my Savage back together I'll post those 2 as well.

I've posted this on a different thread. but i thought id share with you guys

"hi, from my experiences i noticed that the 7 inch and 7.7 inch truckzilla wheels are way to heavy. If your going for show its ok, but for performance wise i dont think SO! a big NO "my opinion"! you lose a lot of the line and the steering isnt as responsive. i think the Proline 40 Series are the best tire and rims combo. there lighter then stock savage wheels and alot taller and wider.

Truckzilla 7 inch / 7.7 inch WORSE Handling"

does anyone have any feedback on IMEX Jumbo Maxx Claw Dawgs?
i was thinking about getting a couple sets, but i havent heard anything about them.

I have ran the Imex Jumbo swap dawgs, they are a nice tire and all, but they weigh more than the Proline Series 40 tires. They take alot of power to turn. Had them on with a stock Savage with the S-25 motor. Right now, run with the Big Joes with Outback 6 rims, the Joes and Outbacks are a nicer tire/rim combo then the Jumbo swap dawgs, also better over all handling and performance.
