OK I GOT EVERYTHING INSTALLED AND NEVER HAD THIS PEOBLEM, I GOT READY TO BREAK THIS IN W/ THE HSN 5 1/2 TURNS OUT AND THE LSN HALF A TURN FROM FLUSH, IT STARTS FINE AND IDOLS THEN GETS HOT FAST AND MAKES A FLUTTERING NOISE IT WILL HIT 245 IN A MINUTE OR SO W/ THE NEEDLE OUT THAT FAR WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON, I'VE BROKE IN ABOUT 20 ENGINES IN MY LIFE AND NEVER THIS PROBLEM I CAN FLIP THE TRUCK OVER BACKWARDS W/ THE NEEDLE ALMOST 6 TURNS OUT WHY i ASK!!!!!!!!!

Caps off please. Considered yelling here.

SOunds like you have an air leak big time. Did you seal your carb and back plate with silicone and let it cure 24 hours? If not then do it.

Do this prior to breaking in any engine. helps eliminate tuning issues. Look for possible leaks in the line or in the tank, fuel filters anywhere the fuel flows.

First off most take off the caps, its considered yelling on the net. It sounds like you have an air leak, did you seal the carb and back plate with rtv sealant? You may have a cracked tank, or a break in your fuel line. Check these few things and try it again.

Jon we posted at the same time, but this just backs up his points.

First off, kill the caps. Second, check for hole in the fuel system. If it'll hit 245 in idle in almost no time, that sounds like an airleak.

good deal!

I'm sealing as we speak and I was yellng at the time LOL, I didn't have any leaks anywhere w/ the 2.5 so hopefully its just the engine, it also rev ed
up by itself!!!!anything else will help thanks guys!!!!

o'rings

should I remove the orings when using sealing it?

I don't remove the o-rings. If you have to seal it then the o-ring itsn't doing the job. I guess its your call.

I would leave the O-ring on there. I seal it with it on and have no problems with it. As said your call.

I concure with that, seal it all. You can leave the O ring in I do, but when I suspect a possible air leak first thing I will do is replace all tubing first then retest if problem persists move to sealing or re-sealing which ever the case may be.
