Hello fellow members I have a question.

I have a Picco .28 in my XL and I am running a Mccoy MC-9 glow plug my friend also has Picco .28 and he is telling me to switch to a OS Engines R5 OSMR5 glow plug. Is this going to make any difference I don’t think it will but he sounds sure lol. Can you guys give me a little info on what you think.

Thanks

Both are rated as cold plugs, but that isn't a rating that can be used across manufacturers. It just means they are cold compared to the others the same company makes.

My guess is that it will be similar though. Just cheaper to go with the OS.

What % nitro do you run?
I think that would have more bearing as to whether you want a hot, medium or cold plug.

I don't have a Picco .28, but I do have their .26 and .27 engines and they recommend that you use long glow plugs like their #51007 for these engines (I assume their 51008 too).

51007 - http://www.extremercmotorsports.com...perature-Glow-Plug-OFN-51007--OFNAPICCCOMPLUG
51008 - http://www.nitrohouse.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=12755

These equate to OS LC4 and LC3 respectively.

Having said that - I've used an OS 8 (which isn't a long plug) with 20% nitro and my Picco ran fine...

Thanks everyone by answers to my thread i dont think there is going to be any difference in me changing the glow for more performance and i am running O'Donnell 30%
