  1. Bashing
Please help, just installed a picco .26 red dot in my Revo 3.3. When the I put the brake on it cuts out instantly :( & also the wheels turn when I'm pulling the pull start is this normal? I have adjusted the LSN rich untill it cuts of and lean until its reving to high & played with the idle. This is a brand new engine and I also put a new clutch spring on it, as it snapped on the original 3.3 engine. I've also installed MIP CVDs on axles and centre, centre diff plus other parts dont know if any of these could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my hands are covered in blisters and bleeding from starting this thing over & over again. Just want to go bashing now.

Your idle screw is set incorrectly. You need to adjust the idle with the trigger in the brake position and the idle trim on the radio turned all the way down.
The way you have it set now allows the braking to lower the throttle below idle, to a stall.

I had a problem very similar to this on my Revo. Same basic setup... Picco 26, CVDs, Center Diff... all that jazz. I was the second owner of the truck and the original owner put an Integy 3 shoe clutch and flywheel on the motor. As a matter of maintenance I changed out the clutch spring. Even made sure the spring fell into the groove around the shoes. With in two tanks of fuel the spring got squeezed between the shoes and the clutch bell. This froze the clutch... no idle, and the wheels turned when I tried to start it. I was misdiagnosing all kinds of stuff... low idle speed, lean idle circuit... etc. Finally checked the clutch. I ripped out the integy flywheel and clutch and put in a stock Traxxas clutch and a nice flywheel. Then the clouds parted, the engine idled and started way easier. I have not had a problem with the stock clutch with the picco since I installed it.

Moral of the story, if the Revo is moving forward as you trying to start it... check the clutch.

Hi Traijin

You were right I was frustrated yesterday and took the clutch apart and found the spring to be broken fixed it and works fine now. This is after so many people telling me I'm usless at tuning (I probabley am), & terlling me many different solutions but i guess that many things can go wrong with these machines.
