Hey guys! I know that the idea from Ofna/Picco to put out this .21 medium block has been out for a while. But, does anybody have an idea on when this thing is due?? I mean I'm in the market for a new engine, and I would like to pick this thing up! Beats doing the conversion and all! Let me know if ya'll have any information! Thanks!:flamer:

Supposed to be out the end of this month.

BTW, you may not need to do the conversion, but you will still need to replace the stock slider shafts with CVD's and most likely the plastic gearing with metal.

Thanks for the info Robmob! Yeah, I've already got everything finished on my truck including the CVD'ds. I just need to finally upgrade this engine. I was thinking of still doing the engine return with traxxas, and put that 2.5 on my new HPI MT2. Well, it's just a thought.

Hey Thanks SkyMaxx! I will just continue to write on that thread. By the way, what do you fly?? What squadron are you with? I'm in the Navy myself. Just curious?? Maybe this should be a topic that should be PM'ed due to the hightened risk and all!

If you check my profile (click the profile button below any of my posts), you will have most of your answers.

thought id add to this thread from few weeks ago. i noticed while browsing ofna's and werks websites checking out the new medium block picco .21 for the t-maxx..that the 2 engines have different carbs in the picture. I've heard from somewere that the 2 engines from ofna/werks were supposed to be the same (like the wasp/werks/ofna picco .26's) yet the werks has an aluminum necked carb while the ofna has a composite..and from the pics the ofna's carb looks alot bigger. ofnas mid-block "claims" a higher HP(2.1 vs 2.38) than the werks..maybe there is a diffrence?

I just decided to finally do the .21 upgrade with the SuperMaxx EXT Nitro Chassis. I said screw staying small block. I should have bought a Savage! That will be my next purchase. Me and the wife have a bet right know on whether she is gonna have a girl or boy. If ot's a girl, I get to but any truck I want! So, pray that its a girl guys!!

haha congrats later on wether its a boy or a girl..but better hope its a girl! (lol thats weird comin from a guy from what I'm used to hearing!) i already have a 24.7 powerd conversion t-maxx...but am building up another maxx from spare parts and accidently got the power bug agian...i should also be putting this money toward a savage but oh well the savage is already on my definite hit list for later this spring. anyways..anyone else can comment on the diffences (at least in the pics/claim hp) between the two mid blocks?

BTW while supermaxx stuff is defnatly the best performing and best looking, plus you will get your moneys worth...if you jsut want big block power and larger chassis, a dynamite or xtm conversion kit will cost half as much..and you get 4 times as much stuff (cvd's, tuned pipe, motor mounts, alloy lower braces, etc. everything you need for a big block conversion actually) jsut wanted to make sure your aware of all the big block options on the market, the 2 i listed being popular and i have the xtm kit and am happy.

A week ago I ordered the motor in question (the Picco .21 medium block) from http://www.werksracing.com/. I will post a report after I've run it a bit. They said it is slightly backordered with a very high demand.

I am not planning to upgrade the drive train unless the new motor tears it all apart. A friend of mine runs a .26 in his Maxx and he is still using the plastic shafts, etc. The only thing we have both done is the FOC.

Let the pieces fall where they may. :smoke:
