Sup guys,

A good friend of mine recently installed a "Phantom" racing tuned pipe on his 2.5 Maxx. The pipe is a monster compared to stock and made of solid stainless steel. He got a good deal on his but it's apparently a very expensive pipe. It's suppose to add gains through the entire power spectrum and it sounds much different then the stock pipe......not really louder or muffeled but more like a dirtbike pipe.

Any comments, opinions or experience with this pipe???

TIA

Well like what you said there supposed to be good I have heard they sound awsome. Its stain less steel polish that up it would look pretty good.

Sup KornKID (great band btw...seen them 4 times now...IN austin they where out of control and I smoked uuuuh tobaccoo backstge with some band memebrs).

He polished his pipe and it lookes killer....hehe.

As for the sound......it's very hard to describe but it sounds nice...it's a different sound and actually seems quiter now that I here it more.

Peace

Ya maybe your going def that pipe must look great polished. As for seeing KoRn I've only seen them once and ya I was only smoking "tobacco" too.

I'm running the Fantom pipe on my max as far as better low end power goes I've had better pipes ( any cvec ) the mid a top end is nice from it.

I have run it as well and found the same. I will use it when I get a road car but didn't like it on the Maxx.

Thats what I'm using my Max for right now ( road car ) :)

Thanks guys,

My buddy is happy with the pipe but yes it does absoutely nothing for the low end but helps a little on the mid and especially top.....I prefer low end pipes myself as I drive mostly off-road!

Peace

Ya I know on my Pro 15 if I put a exhaust deflector on it I would have like no low end it sucked.

i had the pipe for the .15. the single stage i think. it was ok , but it didnt flow that great. i like my dynamite better... the one upside was that it was steel so it took a beating. but it was heavy ...

Really......an exhaust deflector killed the low-end on your .15....that's weird...how's that you think???

I run Racers Edge exhaust deflectors on most of my nitro cars and trucks with no problems.

Peace

Am I being sarcastic...no. I was curious how an exhaust deflector killed your low end. It just re-diverts the exhaust.

Peace

I was there when it was doing it... It would cut out and take forever to accellerate.. then the deflector fell off and it started running just fine so That's what happened none of us have run one since...

Sup dude that's really weird as all a exhaust deflector does is lengthen the exhaust exit, it's the same or usually slightly larger diamter then the exhaust so it doesn't cause any possible exhaust back-pressure! I think it was just a matter of coinsidence that the problem stopped after the deflector fell of as I've been running them for years with no problems whatsoever.

BTW...if you want those phucking things to stay on for on-road and especially off-road.........if it's a plastic exhaust...rough up the end of the exhaust tip with sandpaper and then use two small plastic nylon ties and make sure they're freaking tight.

Peace

This thread is really old... 2003. You might want to check ebay. I had the revo version and really liked it. It did sound like a motocross bike... ding ding ding ding...

Found a couple on ebay: Ebay Search for Fantom pipe

Although, the only t-maxx version is RCBoyz...

EDIT:
Cool, found one for you at stormer: Fantom T-Maxx Pipe $69.95
Not sure I'd pay that for it... may want to just get a traxxas resonator pipe off ebay.

The only bad things about that pipe is that it's heavy compared to aluminum and it retains a lot of friggen heat. I seared my fingers more than once rolling my revo over on it's wheels when I'd forget about the stupid pipe.
