I have recently purchased an HPI R40 and I will be racing this car hopefully in two weeks. Our season here is from March thru November and I know I will be crashing. My question is what spare parts should I have in my box? Does anyone race an R40 out there and if so what spare parts do you carry? Thanks in advance.

i would think you would want the normal breakable parts ,ild keep a spare set on a arms all the way around maybe a complete set of hubs ,its a belt drive car so a back up set of belts and pullys and I'm not sure how that car is layed out but ild think about a set of bulkheads also .i call it a crash kit ,I'm trying to put one together for my serpent.also get an extra thrust bearing for the centax clutch they can fail under heavy use .

ALL drive line components, Full front and rear end suspension parts, bearings, crystals, servos, spare foams, wheel nuts, screws, batteries, ... I can't remember them all but those are the most important. Ask Team17 what's in my toolbox. He was in there more than I was this weekend!

lol... in plain terms, have at least one extra of each part of the car. I thought I had all the extra parts I needed & the unexpected happeened & I didn't have the one piece I needed. So the cheper way to go is buy another kit and use that for spare parts.

that's what dive and i did. we bought another 710 kit during the $50 rebate period. it totally paid itself off in regards to buying the parts separately. if bought as spare parts, the clutch kit and chassis already cost $140.

Thats not a bad idea to buy another kit. That would give me double on the parts and if I am right it will all be disassembled. I bet it works out to be cheeper that way. Thanks for the information everyone.

Yeah, that's why we decided to it. Everything is there. Screws, parts, chassis. You get the second kit and just never assemble it. keep it in the bags or organize everything in your parts box. It's more econimical. The parts purchased seperately will cost you 5 times as much as just getting the kit. The only time you purchase parts is to replace what was used when you broke something to keep your inventory stocked.
