A912 is the correct part number and they are still out there, just have to do a little hunting. The A910 will not work.

Just a note, I had the 2-speed tranny in my MT and frankly, wasn't that impressed with it. It chipped teeth off both spur gears very, very frequently and will completely eat itself if you take it off road. If you are looking for more speed, try changing to a lower tooth count CB.

thanks monkey wrench

i want to have tork and speed

just for info can it be possible to fit a savage transmition into my mt
i don't know the size of savage trans but on paper it look like it can be possible with a big job of fitting

No, it defintely won't fit. The MT 2-speed really isn't a 'transmission' in the technical sense. How it works for the MT is a different CB with two sets of teeth and then two spurs, one mounted on a slipper clutch. When the it 'shifts', the second spur (lower tooth count) engages on the drive shaft and actually becomes the drive gear, but both spurs contine to be turned by the CB. When you slow down enough, the slipper disengages, and now the higher tooth count spur is the drive gear.

There is no other direct-drop two speed transmission for the MT that I am aware of, and I think modifying something to fit will only end up in headaches for ya. You can still find the A912 kits out there, just have to do some hunting, but after having had it in my MT, as I mentioned, the payoff doesn't really outweigh the benefits.

thank's

i want to ear changing speed and a912 dosen't do than if it work like that.

No, you'll hear it change gears and you will notice a difference in speed, but along with you hearing it change gears, you'll also hear it eat spurs! If you are going to convert your MT to a road racer only, then I say go for it!

R/C Planet had them: http://www.rcplanet.com/hpi_2_speed_transmission_57912_prd1.htm

Because, unlike the Savage, the 2-speed transmission was an afterthought for the earlier MT's. The 2-speed will work, it's just not the best design, but it works based on the cost of developing and marketing it. It's really just a simple design to please those owners that wanted 2-speed functionality in their MT.

You seem especially hung up on getting a 2-speed for your MT, is there a particular reason why? I ask only because it may be worthwhile to look into a different rig, perhaps.

it's just because i want to go faster on road without compromise fast start and want to try a 2 speed car

my mt is my first nitro car and i invest a lot on it i love this truck but now i start to think i should buy a savage for the parts availability and now my freind have a t-max and i want to be competetive

i really love my mt but i think is to slow, i have the power but not the speed

Then consider a different CB/spur combination, man (or at least a different CB). If memory serves, the stock set-up is 15/47, right? Maybe try going to a 13T CB, which should give you some more speed.

Yeah, those MT's are fun little trucks, I agree! You can give the 2-speed a try and always go back to the single spur if it doesn't work out! If you order the 2-speed, I suggest ordering two or three extra spurs for each gear, just to have on hand. They're only like $4.00 each.

in rc planet the trans was unavailable

gone to try a smaller cb for the moment like you said

but i not sure if i look a bike to go faster a change fore a bigger gear in the front (cb) and smaller at the wheel(trans) ???
