hey guys just got the new 2011 sav x 4.6 broke it in everythings going good. durable as ever. my questions are what parts typically tend to give out first and when they do what do you guys think i should replace them with? thanks

Servos - Many good choices

Hump Pack - Many good choices

New transmitter/receiver - Many good choices

Wheels/Tires - Many good choices

Wheelie Bar - On road = Integy - Off road = HPI

Alloy F/R Carriers - Many Choices

Upper and Lower Arms - RPM

With most everything in this hobby its going to depend on intended use and budget.

If you get a wheelie bar you can't do cool stuff like this!

My truck never can do wheelies cuz I'm always on dirt. But i guess if you drive on street it works ok. My dirt is really loose and dusty so not enough grip for a wheelie bar.

I personally got:

HPI tuned pipe
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-HPI-Sav...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58917f02de
1400 MAH battery pack
http://www.ebay.com/itm/6v-1400mah-...pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item3cbccb15c6
hotbodies revolution wheels ( really plants the whole truck to the ground and helps with the handling to be honest) but they are discontinued ... took me weeks to find a bran new set. but you may have luck if you ever decide you want some.

208 oz steering servo ( great great servo, its very strong and turns my heavy wheels like nothing) http://www.ebay.com/itm/TORQUE-208o...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35a3eb12a4

So far really happy.

I plan on getting these later on.

Great for keeping an eye on your pack before it gets to low.

Some say the steel gear can cause more damage but i say thats only true if you dont set your gear mesh correctly and i your motor mounts arent locktited

This is a really cool item, you can stop your engine with out pluging the exhaust or pinching the fuel... i like it

Locking your diffs can make it lots of fun

These boots will help keep grim out of your diffs and keep the grease from coming out.

metal clutch upgrade is always nice to have.

And lastly the sway bar kit is a must... really will help you from rolling.

Also, dont worry about locktiting everything on this 2011 x 4.6 bigblock .. it comes with locktite on the motor mounts.. back plate and the starter plate. and i believe all the metal parts with screws in them have locktite so no worries there.

I got everything on your list, lol except the Battery indicator, plus I use High-tec Servos, & run my tanks dry. Good list. Ohh and I got Blue Groove wheels & Tremor Phaltlines instead of those. I run the HPI sway bar on my Off Road Truck, but I much prefer the Blue Groove Sway bar kit on my RR Truck.

I run the HPI XL Tuned pipe on my buddies Savy that I basically keep at my place, its better then the Plastic pipe. I run a ERCM 221T Pipe on mine. 221T ERCM Pipe, if you can afford it, this is the only way to go as far as tuned pipes, it is THE tuned pipe. Nothing compares.

I do not have and wont ever run a Diff locker.

I've had no issues with that spur so far pulling mad wheelies on my FLM LCG Savy that's ZR30X Powered.

The XL Clutch set is the best from HPI, but damn expensive, the Integy kit believe it or not has been Proven in modded Piccos, but I prefer my Dynamite max Life Shoes with Ofna 1.1mm spring combo.

I like locked diff's personally, but yeah my spur gear is still good and healthy after a gallon so far and I'm sure it will continue to be fine through the next gallon. I just like steel ones, when i had my t maxx i loved it and it was really nice.

and deng if you have all that you have my dream savage lol.

these are real durable trucks
my savage 25 i have broke about 20 bucks worth of parts since i bought it new when it first came out. i still have the original engine in it and i stopped counting after 15 gallons of fuel. i run OS8 glow pugs and Byrons 20% race blend fuel and never go over 275 degrees i put the piston to the bottom when i am done and use after run oil.
i tune them to run with lots of smoke and they last a long time not for max speed
when i race or bash with others and i get beat ooh well
i am still having fun
i learned this along time ago
you do not have to be fast to win just be consistant and keep it on the track
i see so many people who run as fast as they can but their truck has to be flipped back on its wheels alot and i drive right by them this works for me
i suck at racing but its fun, i learn things and meet alot of nice people
