parking lot cruiser??help

I'm looking for a good parking lot touring car for an affordable price, i see you guys like associated's stuff for the track....but i want something that i can bash up and learn on before i destroy my t maxx..I've already had the throttle come loose and smash into my snooty neighbors civic: oops. and i bent the shock tower.


so what do you suggest? my local hobby guy has cars from most companies and parts for everything but cen, which he seems to really dislike.

If it breaks he's going to have to fix it either way. If you really want a good learning experience then buy a kit and you'll know how to fix it if and when you break it.

I would still have to say an NTC3 - the thing is just so amazing.

However - if u never plan to race - a great car that doesn't get much respect is the HPI super nitro. The thing is huge! it isnt very fast, but it is so big it can travel over some of the rougher parking lot terrain - plus - everything is easy to work on, and there is alot of parts for it. Finally - u can get one ready to run for less than 300.00

For parking lots I would recommend two cars. Either the HPI RS4, or the AE, both with the shaft drive, both are available as a rtr or kit. Tiny rocks in parking lots are a belt drives worst nightmare.

I definately recommend new, you dont want to be trying to figure out what someone else has done to it, and you will really have no idea of its true condition. You don't need someone elses headache while learning.

I disagree with NA on the HPI supernitro. My runs fast enough to hold it's own. But he is right, it's easy to work on and get parts for.

Only thing I dont like about the SuperNitro is the belt drive. I would recommend only a shaft drive for bashing. Getting a stone caught up in the belts would be very bad. Other than that its a nice basher.

robriquez - i used to feel the same way - but i see more and more peeps with some belt drive cars at our weekly bash and they have yet to have a problem.

team17 - although the supernitro is still a quick car - it is no where near as fast as the 10th scale nitro cars such as the NTC3 kit, 4tec, RS4 SS, ect....

I wasn't saying it kicks everyone's ass. I simply stated that the car can move and keep up with some 1/10 cars, but not all.
