I know this is a stupid question but what size rims do the panther Python tires mount on?I think i have read that they use standard maxx size rims?I want to order a set but dont know what rims to order. Thanks

PANTHER TIRES PYTHON MONSTER TRUCK TIRE PAIR SOFT

TIRES-REVO PYTHON; fits Revo size wheels (2). ONLY FOR 3.8 INCH DIAMETER REVO WHEELS
this is from the rcplanet.com website...

Thanks also are the Komodo Dragons the same?I am not sure of which ones to get.

I really don't know. I just found that info at rcplanet.com. could not find anything on the dragons. I would recommend emailing Panther for more info..... I really don't want to steer you wrong.

I did some searching and found that the Komodo dragons take standard maxx size rims.I am going to get the Komodo Dragons. Thanks for your help.

the pythons are not race legal anymore from what I've heard....they call em the cheater wheels at my track, cause you can run a buggy w/ a truck body and those wheels as an MT....not very fair cause it's just a buggy w/ slightly larger wheels.....I didn't know they made a revo version though....those might hve a larger diameter

The Revo version only fits the Revo 3.8 rim. I just got my Pythons for my Revo from Rush and my Komodo Dragons for the buggy. Check the panther website:
www.panther-rc.com should be able to find what tires fit what wheels there.

I totally agree calling them cheater tires, but the funny thing is that I run faster lap times then the killer buggy at our track. I'll take on a buggy with slightly bigger tires any day!

personally I don't see why they limit stuff like that....I mean Stock or mod that's it....If I mod it then why have a limit on what tire size I have.....I know it can affect the overall gearing, but it could also cause negative effects too if you didn't set your car up right......

I say as long as you are running the "cheaters" in the unlimited class then it doesn't matter. If your running against true mt's then its just wrong.

true, but I don't even see the advantage they give a truggy...single speed, so you better have an engine turning some serious RPMs....

They were designed to be able to let anybody that has a buggy run in the mt class. They are not much larger then buggy tires so that way you don't have to regear your rig. I'd still take a true truggy over that.

So your saying that they will not fit the revo? From the searching i did i saw they fit the standard maxx rims.I was going to get these wheels and mount them to my revo.I am not worried about rules right now.The track i go to has not started racing yet because they just built it.When they start racing there rules will not be to strict.
Will these work with the Komodo Dragons?

don't get the pythons unless you want your revo to drop the top end and give it more low end pop....those wheels were designed for specific purpose.....wheel use depends on track conditions more than anything else....the bowties are great for everything except heavy wet stuff, mulchers are good for that.....as far as Panther wheels on trucks the list I'd pick would be Meat grinders for thick heavy clay (high traction), Komodo's would be the middle road all around track condition tire and the Revo pythons look good for dry dusty stuff...nothing beats the bowties on dry hard stuff though

I have a set of 40 series bowties mounted on dish wheels. The problem is the rims are bent. The tires only have about 2 hours of tracktime on them.I was going to get wabash rims with the 23mm hex so it would stop the rims from bending but,I already tried boiling them and putting them in the oven with no results.Any other sugestions that work?

soak them in acetone. It will eat the foams, but you will get the tires off. Set one side of the rim/tire in the acetone and let it soak overnight then turn it over.

Thanks.I will see if i can get some acetone tonight. What foams should i order? Also what is you thoughts on Crime Fighter tires?good, bad?

The buggy crime fighters are great so I would imagine the mt tires are good too. I would go with a firm foam.

I just took off my Bowties and all I did was BAKE them at 300 in the oven( I put foil down) for about 10-15 min. to help break down the CA, then soak them. Or you can boil them( in water!!!!!), but that will take a lot of time b/c you can only do one side of one rim at a time.

Whoa... the pythons for the Revo are the same size as the Response by Traxxas and the Talon which is the stock Revo tire. I think we are starting to confuse different tire applications here. The Python for the Revo says on it "Revo" which uses a 3.8 wheel, not a Maxx wheel.
