Hey guys I jsut bought a used set of Monster pirate wheels and tires and they are totaly awesome looking on my truck its a beast now! anyway the rims where at one tims silver but have been through hell and back I want to paint them possibly black not sure yet anyway I have a rustler and I used regular krylon paint on its rims and the paint bubbled alot and diddnt stick very well. I have done alot of painting mostly custom paint jobs on 1/18 diecast cars and trucks and I have never come across this I have had this happen on more than on occasion. I was thinking of using my airbrush My question is what can I do to prevent this and should I be using some sort of "special" paint if anyone can give me any ideas that would be great I want these new rims to look like new if not better thanks

Ok This is what you do..... Clean the wheel boil some water add rit dye and soak till your wheel turns the desired color. Paint will chip off but dye wont. Go to your local food store (kroger farmer jack or mejirs sp?) and look for rit dye it comes in a powered and liquid mix.. I use the liquid boil the water in a pot add the dye mix. THen added the wheen If you want it black let it set for a long time... Dont worry black is the darkest color it can get. If you want a better how-to use the search button
