Ok so i was reading in a couple threads that you can actually take your OWB out and clean it up? is this true or only for some models? if it is how do clean them up?

i dont know what brand you have, but on my traxxas trucks i drill a hole in the cover , and then spray cleaner in and that will clean the OWB, then DONT put oil on it, it needs to be dry.

You can clean any of them. Some are harder to get to than others. If it is a Traxxas motor or most other small block engines the OWB is on the outside of the engine in the pullstart/Roto or Esystart assy. Clean them with DA and oil lightly with WD-40 and re-install. Most big block engines have an internal OWB. You have to remove the pull start and the back plate of the engine to get to it. Clean the same way.

well then, i must have a big block then because thats where i found it, inside the engine.through the pull start and behind the backing plate. the engine is a SH .28. OK so i got it all apart i have the engine, the pull start, backing plate, and the bearing and shaft all taken out so i have to clean the bearing and shaft right?? here is a pic to help
