hey ppl.. just wondering what the main reason for an engine to over heat are.. was running my revo today and got through 3/4 of a tank wen a brought it in for a quick temp check and it was 358F.. so i stopped straight away and put the piston to BDC.. I'm Definatly not runnin to lean ( i think) i can always see blue smoke.. i actually thought i was runnin a bit rich.. i was runnin at WOT for a bit but no longer than 5-10 sec at a time B4 i had to slow and turn around the out side temp was about 52f(again i think cause i live in Australia so we use Celcius not Farenheight).. how long can i run WOT for and what else makes an engine get to hot.. thanks everyone :)

Heat comes from: Too Lean,Air Leak,High Rolling Resistance(tall grass) and I've seen people try to run a new body with no holes for air to cool the engine.

5-10sec WOT should not be a problem.

If your engine is in proper tune, the first thing to check would be a tight mesh. Too much resistance there caused the engine to work really hard. If that's okay, check the rest of the drive train for bad bearings.

Seeing blue smoke does not mean your LSN is not too lean. A lean LSN will cause an overheat that can not be corrected with the HSN.

Don't forget, air cools the engine. I had to cut my windshield out for proper air flow. Helped bring temp down.
