RC Driving Style
I know many of you guys are 1:1 car fanatics like myself. I was just curious what you guys thought of the newer Overhauling shows where they are working on brand new cars. To me that isnt overhauling thats more like Pimp my Ride dunno :shrug:. Chip Foose to me is one of the Top car builders in the world and love the things he does to the new cars. But I dont see how that can be considered overhauling, I think they should stick with the old cars that dont even run and they "Overhaul" them and build them into custom hotrod/muscle cars . They should be working on cars like mine lol I want to be overhauled. Silly thread but just curious :smoke:
 
Jesse I'm going to have to agree with you on this,Overhaulin is not pimping these new ricer's,it's restoring older car's,none of this new BS like pimp my ride,i only watch pimp my ride if there's a good stereo system being built or if there's a classic car,if overhaulin keep's going towards new show's it's going to be a waste of space.

which car was it the 05 mustang?

i to agree with you guys, i like the old trucks and cars. now its all about technology.

the only reason id take a o5 mustang is so i can sell it and buy a old truck or build one.
 
Yeah they also did a 05 Dodge Hemi wagon recently it was cool but not overhauled more like pimped lmao
 
I'm not a fan of Chip Foose at all. I personally think the dudes a total copy cat, and just plain ol unoriginal. So I havnt gotten a chance to check it out. But if there "Overhauling" new style cars, I know I wouldnt waste my time watching it.
 
4u2nv I thought the same thing untill I seen him on a special where he was building a street rod and he hand made the entire body with a english wheel and some other simple tools. Over haulling is usally the same type thing Big wheels and custom paint but the do it in 7 days. I know some guys granted there is only 2 of them but it takes several month to accomplish what they do on the show. When I see the new cars I usally dont watch it either I'm in to the old 50,s cars and styls myself

4u2nv I seen your name on the back of a really sweet Dump truck the other day. It had all the chrome bells and whistle on it and lights every where. It was bad ass for a Dump truck lol
 
I guess the thing that really bugs me about him, is that Boyd Coddington took him under his wing and tought him the ropes of everything, and then once he felt he learned enough, he backstabbed Boyd and now tries to compete with him and gives him no credit. I think its kinda weird how Boyd starts out in Rims, and Chip started in rims, then when boyd did the body shop thing, so did he. And now tries to steal employees, and other dirty scandelous crap, and talks smack, so I can really respect the guy since he doesn't give credit to the guy who basically made him. I have seen his work though and it is good, and some of it is pretty radical, but still...
 
I see your point there, and boyed makes some killer rods one of my favorites was the zz top Cadzilla. I think Tv blows everything out porportion (Sp)? Anyway I can build a better car than either one of them hehe :jk: they defiently have talent and a long background in hotrods. And I admire that

If you want to see some really talented hotrod builders check this out http://www.clubhotrod.com/ These are guys/gals who build there own rods in there Garage's . I have been a member there for a while great bunch of people
 
So what do you think is my car a good canidate for Overhauling, I would rather do the work myself if I had the $$ but if Tlc wanted to pay to have it done I would be all for it lol.

I have to say they I perfer chips cars to boyds cars, boyd's cars are all the same "Boydsters" I have not seen one of chips car resemble another of his cars, also Chips wheels don't all look the same like boyds.
 
I prefer where they fix up the old stuff. Jesse that ride is a perfect candidate!! I did catch part of the episode where they pimped the 05 Stang...loved the paint....it inspired me for my next crowdpleaser lid.

I honestly think I like Chips wheels better myself. Foose spanks are awesome as hell and have been my dream wheels for a while. I just dont like the prices..lol.. Boyds and Foose's wheels are crazy expensive.

Jesse ya should send your car to Andys Overhaulin garage..lol.. Id love to redo a impala like that. 1960 impalas with the continetal kit have always been one of my favs too!.
 
Foose's and Boyd's car's are nice,I just can't see having a Boydster like everybody else,make's no sense to me why everybody would want to have the same custom car,same reason why i would never want to paint a car red,everybody else is doing,why be a follower.

Lol I dont think so, I have had many people wanting to buy it but that will never happen. I like the 60 Impala too. My uncle has a continetal kit for a 59, that he said he would trade me for a 4 speed I have lying around so I'm probally going to do it :). If I had the $$$ I would be putting it into the 59, I want to get it at least running soon. I have a Extremly built Big Block 348 for it that is bored 60 over. It should have around 400 to 500 hp :devious: just need the money for the trans, exaughst,radiator and some other odds and ends. Than money for the tickets I will probally get in it lol
 
Jesse, someday that thing will be pretty nice... Something about the older Impalas caught my eye, and i like em... I like my mustang, but i woulda rather had a 60's camaro instead... o well, ill make the best of what i have.. :-0
