i got an old used rc10gt for next to nothing from a friend of mine and spent over $200 bucks on tower to get her moving again put it all together last night took it out this morning and rounded the spur but i can't figure out y
the clutch bell mesh to the spur was good and they both looked to be fine I'm afraid if i buy a new one t will do the same thing any help??

If you rounded a spur, there's a couple possibilities. One of them being brake drag. When you take the spur off, with the radio system on and no throttle input applied, the truck should roll freely.

The other possibility is that you had too loose of a mesh. The gears are supposed to be as close together as possible, yet just have a hint of play in them, during all rotation of the spur.

Yea use the peice of paper trick. Put the paper in between the spur and bell. Then take it out when your done.

Could also be a loose engine mount. Check all your bolts to make sure the engine isn't sliding on you. Make sure to check the bolts securing the engine to the mounts as well. They tend to rattle loose.

Damn!!!

Ya olds!! was gonna say that cuz it just happened to me now with my savage ss, now I'm orderin Robinson steel combo 48T/16T...holy moly engine mount!!!:constipat

With it being an older car, did you check the spur and make sure that there was not chips or broken teeth on it. I've had it on my maxx a while ago catch on a chipped tooth and it rounded my spur. Put a new one on and just check you mesh.
