hi

I'm looking for an new mill and can't decide between these 2?

the tm is alot more expensive but offers more power.
and the CV-R is alot cheaper, but gives less power.

what i mainly want to know is....

what mods need doin to fit either?
which is best value for money?
will the cv-r give a noticeable improvment over the 2.5?

are there any other engines i should consider?

thanks

If you have the 2.5 maxx, you will need to find a cv-r that has a slide carb or buy some wire to make linkage for a rotory carb. You will also need to buy a new header/pipe for a side exhaust engine.

Both are good engines. I wouldn't go any larger if I were you. I did the BB maxx thing and it's not fun. But a peppy SB in a maxx is fun. If you can afford the tm, it will drop right into a 2.5 maxx.

If you have the older 15pro maxx, the cv-r will pretty much drop right in after cutting the crank (I think that's all you'd need to do).

From what I understand, the cv-r will have a lot more power in the low side than the 2.5...

ok thanks for the replies.

super, the sirio has low compression so I'm just gonna send it back and get my 60 quid.

i probably wont be getting the engine right now, but in the next few months. (need a new steering servo first)

what about the orion wasp .21 for the t-maxx?

well,

the 2.5 is running strong at the moment, so ill upgrade other things till i get bored of the 2.5, then look for a new mill. (it still kicks your sav no matter what motor its got:banana: )

the blue tuned pipe has given it a wake up call!

and the sirio has been discontinued too.

lol, your on!

ill probably end up on roof from it wheelieing (which i recall you were trying to get yours to do (lean it up, its super rich!)

i still dont understand how you broke the brake hub:ponder2:

actually it isn't really rich its just heavier than yours

the corners of the hub got rounded off it has been used for about 2-3 years and its plastic

either one of the o.s. .18's will be much better than the 2.5 my buddy has the tm and some of the guys have tz's and i have two maxx's with cvrx .18's and i get them every time its a good motor don't let the price fool ya

which CV can i put in the maxx?

and where can i get a side header so i can fit the exhaust to the engine.

Yes, but depending on what maxx you have, you may need more parts. LIke the pipe/exhaust I said above.

For a 2.5 maxx, you will need the exhaust above, a Slide Carb 18, a Cut off nut (if you've never cut a crank shaft before) and a Clutch adapter. Of course, you will need to live with a pull starter as well...

I don't know if it would be worth the effort or $ to try and find out if the OS 18 TM backplate and starter shaft will fit the cv-r engine. Looking at the cv-r start shaft and Back Plate, I don't think they are interchangable.
