Help. I just got a new OS-18TM for my REVO. Broke it in like the last 6 RC engines I have. First day at the track and I smoked 2 one-way bearings and 2 pull starts. I checked the starter shaft and it seems like a sloppy fit in the bushing. Do you think this could cause the problem? I hate to send it back to them but I can't afford another $20 starter and $20 bearing. Any advise why I am smoking bearings?

Thanks, Bill

Your revo has a one way ?
What pullstart engine doesn't?

I would look into the sloppy fitting of the starter shaft, that could be your problem. Was the compression really tight when you were pulling? It could have been flooded...

Sloppy fit could very cause the problem. I'd contact Horizon about the fit on the shaft, I think that is who handles issues with OS here in the states. You can also just say heck with it, get a backplate, cut the nub off and get a RD racing starter box.

I am planning on sending it back to them to check out. The engine is brand new and I hate the idea of keeping bad parts that I paid top dollar for. I'll probably get the conversion for a box while its away but I want to know I can always go back to the pull starter if my box ever fails. I'll just get a spare starter shaft.
