I just bought the orion wasp 18 w/slide carb. I installed it a couple nights ago. I have since started the breakin process, I'm on tank 3.
Whenever I buy an engine, I tear it completely apart and clean the inside out. You would be suprised how many aluminum shavings you will find. Unfortunatly, orion doesn't include a parts explosion with this engine and it's unlike any engine I've had apart. The piston doesn't have a cutout in the skirt to clear the crankshaft, so I'm not 100% sure if I got it put back in the right way. It does have about a 4mm hole in the skirt of the piston, but I'm not sure what that's for either. It doesn't appear to line up with anything else. Also, the sleeve doesn't have a guide pin. You have to line it up by eye. That's pretty simple though as it lines up with the crease (sp) where the two halves of the crank case comes together.
As it is right now, I can see the 4mm hole in the piston skirt through the exhaust port. Anyone know if this is right?
Thanks.
