What would I have to do the my t-maxx 2.5 classic to make it opti-drive.

buy a new trany more then likly buy a up dated one

you need a transmisson off of a 3.3(old version)

stick with what you have right now, opti-drive isnt that great

that is usually the first thing that I yank out of the Revo since it seems to be more hassle then its worth....

some times its nice to have reverse like if you drive into a fence or a tree just back up but with more gears in the box more thaings to go wroung
