I was looking into getting some stuff to add on to my NTC3 RTR. I have been looking around and these are some items I am considering.

I think I decided on this rx pack.

I think these shocks look like the best deal considering they come with different springs for tuning:

But I was also considering these. They seem about the same though. I think they are both Integy's.

For a new air filter I was thinking about this one. I have a motor saver on my T-maxx and I like it.

Or maybe
this one. I see alot of other NTC3's with the K&N.

Any opinions or advise would be cool. Thanks.

The battery pack looks good. As far as shocks go, just get AE's spring bundle pack if your looking for optimal tuning abilities. The stock shocks should be fine. Are yours the threaded alum ones? I have the team kit so I'm sure what comes with the RTR.

As far as the motor saver air filter goes, stick with it. They are the best choice for me.

Do you have a 2 speed yet? If not, I would spend the money on that. Yours is 4wd right?

No my shocks are not threaded aluminum. Thats why I was looking at these shocks. The stock ones use spacer clips
which kinda suck, and theres no extras included. I think the shocks I was looking at are Integy's. I dont see alot of people using aftermarket shocks for thier NTC3's. I guess because most already have the threaded aluminum ones with the kit versions they built. I have seen some kit versions sporting blue caps though, I guess they're probably the Associated aluminum caps. I could go that way but to get the shocks + caps + springs is alot more than I can get this set for. I can get these for maybe $40.00 for 4 shocks and all those spings. I need to decide on the shocks today so hopefully someone else has used them and can respond as to whether they are any good. I would guess they are as Integy's site sells them for $30 a pair. I was also looking into the Hot Bodies shocks as an alternative.

The battery is good then? I guess I'll order it today. As for the filter I will pick one of those up too. I was noticing that Tower had some new looking filters from what the old Motor Savers looked like. Two speed tranny is in the future and additional tires.

before i did anything, and i mean anything.......go with the two speed tranny and new tires. Single speeds suck, and the stock tires are the worst! after that go with the threaded shocks, once you get those, unless you really know how to drive, you wont need the tuning springs. just set your car up at a 5mm ride hight and use a softer shore foam tire in the rear to reduce oversteer. make sure u get it all aot once, as the two speed will be too much power for the stock shocks and tires. it will be very uncontrollable. as for that batt pack, it is the same one i have, and it works great.:clap:

Ok - I wasn't sure about the stock shocks but now I know. Thank you! Integy doesn't make anything half ass so I would give them a shot. Although I do stand behind AE shocks.

Motor Saver redid their whole product line and yes, they look slightly different too. Seems they are wanting to get their filters on all ride before they even ship to the customers now. They also seemed to have reduced their lines to the more popular RC's. They still kickass!

I can't speak of a single speed because I havent run one, but I can tell you that I couldnt imagine running without 2 speed. Soooo much top end :flamer:

Keep us posted on what you get and how it works out. We are always interested in hearing other peoples opinions on products we havent used!!

Just to set you straight, aluminum shocks will bring more problems to your r/c car world. With plastis spacers, they are the same sizes, with aluminum threaded shocks, it is harder to tune them evenly. With aluminum shocks, a glitch could come into play. If you get in a crash, they could bend, plastic is more forgiving in a crash. Cheaper to get new ones if you really have to.
Just my .02. Anyone else agree with me?
I know that the metal ones are pretty much only good for show, not for racing. I wouldn't even use them for parking lot running.
Thanks for reading my thoughts, no offense if you took any. I am just trying to set you right so you don't waste money. You could put the money into tires or wheels.

I've ran single speed...it sucks...kinda...lock your 2-speed clutch out...then it's single speed...that's the way my car is right now...but it's in pieces still...i'll probably run it as a single speed until I get bored
