Small start in my conversion. Plan on getting rpm a arms, trx aluminium push rods and turnbuckles, gtr Teflon shocks with TiN coated shafts. Undecided on the transmission. Stock 3.3 mabey the platinum or a slayer transmission.... motor either a os .21tm or picco .26 red dot.

For an engine I stated what transmission ratio and spur and bell gear combo would work best. I don't want something that does nothing but pop wheelies...

17 tooth clutch bell and a 36 tooth spur gear is about the tallest gearing for the revo i believe. Also the stock 2.5 revo trans is actually 3.3 spec already. Just install the forward only conversion if you havnt already. If you drop a picco .26 max on it your gonna have to learn throttle control to keep the front end down regardless. Unless you also install the center diff kit in the trans housing. This will eliminate any wheelie issues by distributing power equally to front and rear diffs.

I wouldn't say equally lol. Most of the time a center diff will send too much power to the front. Mine was a real pita, and I got rid of it. It's a poor design at best.

I'm wondering why no one ever made an adjustable slipper clutch design center diff...

you can also run the jato clutch bell and spur gear to find what you like best.but you have 2 change both out.and when you buy the clutch bell be sure to get bearing for it.now i'm running 14t c.b/50t spur gear but i have put up 2 a 56 spur gear with spacing the tranny up.the 0.8mm pitch .32 has alot more gearing opitons.stock the revo comes with .25mm pitch.also the extended rear arms will help with wheelies.

OK I just ordered the forward only conversion and 3.3 transmission housing (in case I want a center diff and rear brake kit). I plan on using the standard ratio gearing from the 2.5 transmission. Now standard gearing is between close and wide. What would be better behind the picco.26? Figure a close ratio will want to wheelie easier and wide may keep the front end down better and standard can be geared either way... just racking my brain on what gearing to go with....

The close/standard/wide ratios only apply to second gear. First gear is always the same. A 17 tooth bell and 36 tooth spur would be a great choice.

Aah OK thanks... so I could just buy the second gear if I want to swap ratios? I just want lots of controllable power without wheeling when I don't want to.

Now if I go with 16/36 gear ratio will the ofna mount since it isn't adjustable work or will I need to shim it?

I'm close to $200 in my pay pal account so I'll be ordering a picco .26 hopefully...

I'm not sure which ratio works best with the Ofna mount, but Racer1966 may have a New Era style mount for you if need be.

Well I ordered a set of rpm a arms, reverse elimination kit, 3.3 transmission housing, and trx aluminum pushrods. Next I'll order the gtr shocks and trx aluminium turnbuckles. Plan is to fix it up during the winter and have it going in the spring.

Is there any receiver boxes that don't have the space for the optidrive and reverse servo? Since its wasted space now...

i just used trx#5461 varible damping kit works grt-8 you can choose from 3 differant pistions and if you want the shim on top off road or bottom for on road

Since I literally have no out of pocket money going in this build I figured I'll get the gtr Teflon coated shocks with the TiN coated shafts. My eBay sales is funding everything. You can literally sell anything on eBay! Its great lol...

You can get complete shocks pretty cheap on ebay, and look up the reciever box from a revo platinum or slayer pro. I can't get part #'s right now gotta go to work.

Here how it sits so far. Still got to put on the aluminum turnbuckles for the front. My receiver don't fit in the slayer receiver/battery box. Ordered close ratio gears and a RR steel top shaft gear. Still dumping money into it. Tried running it today, but I got an air leak at the Carb base and exhaust manifold.

Looks OK with the 2.5 body. Had to trim the front to clear the bumper mount.

I thought red would look good besides blue or black. Not many color options for rpm a arms.

Since my receiver won't fit.in.the slayer pro receiver box I was thinking of taking the case off my receiver so it would fit and maybe putting it in a balloon for some moisture protection.... see how that works out.....

Rpm a arms.
Traxxas trx aluminum pushrods and turnbuckles.
gtr Teflon coated shocks with the TiN coated shafts.
3.3 chassis.
I got the 3.3 transmission housing and close ratio gears still need to be installed. Probably go with a center diff and rear brake kit too.
Slayer pro receiver and throttle box.
Eliminated the reverse.

I am pleased with the little 2.5r in it. I would go with the 3.3 if it was more reliable than what it is. Probably end up with the OS .21tm.
