You'll all be glad to hear that I finally have narrowed it down to the Revo @599.00 + tax-incl. a jug of nitro or the Savage Limited for the same deal. Hmmmmm.....racer or basher...hm.....:breakdown
Thanks to all of the seasoned, knowledgeable dudes who haved helped. It was much appreciated and you never even gave me any grief over emailing question after question. Thanks. Now I have to decide what to do. Hmmmm.....

I have owned both trucks, and my vote goes to the Savage Limited Edition. Big block and 3-speed...:)

Either truck is great, thats just what I would do if I had the cash to do it lol.

I'm with AC.
Get your feet wet with a tough truck, and never get rid of it.
You'll be sorry if you sell it down the road.
I always hear people saying that they wish they never sold there first truck.
Good luck.

Thanks guys, it's not easy being a newb and female

I have no girlfriends that are into R/C. I have a couple guys (friends) that I know and there is a track here that I will check out. So, it is nice to have so much help. Thanks:whhooo:

If you can learn to drive the savage and be competitive with it. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RACE ANYTHING!

Hugo = girl?!? Coool!

Well, I hope to hear about come Canadian chick smoking the boys racing in the near future!

If I remember correctly, you’re mostly going to be bashing right? I'd lean more towards the savage.

I have both the savage and the Revo and the ability to have more power on tap suits a basher more than a racer I'd think.

A racer needs finesse, agility, durability and of course, skill.

A basher just needs stuff to crawl over, through and jump. A truck that can handle the "not so good" landings is a total plus.

Having the power of a big block to run through grass, mud, snow, gravel will be much appreciated when you have it.

My Revo did well at the skate park this weekend... 10 feet of air under it without so much as a whimper... but when I was driving in heavy snow and mud, the small block made itself known. It didn't care for the heavy stuff much. But it does like the air!

I get what you're saying. Thanks for making my mind up. I never looked at it that way. I kept thinking about speed capability but you're right.
Thanks. What did you do to make it snow worthy?

WHich? the savage or the revo?

I guess it doesn't matter...

I plastidip'd the servo's, ballooned the receiever and battery pack on my savage and plastidip'd the battery pack on the revo. I also put little o-rings under the servo horns to make a good seal between the horn and the servo case. Whey you do that though, you may have to file a little off the bottom of the horn so it isn't too tight or it binds. I also put associated grean slime on the o-rings so they allow the servo's to move easy.

Hugo is my dogs name, lol. Thought I must be a "dog" with a name like that I bet?! lol. My real name is Kelly, just to clear it up. lol.

I know what you mean...

Are you kidding, a toy??? That's why I have so many guy friends. None of the girls have the same interests as I do. I hunt, ride a motorcycle (I had to sell it just a couple months ago) I had a 1100 Yamaha VStar Custom but I'm mainly an artist. I have a 2 year diploma in motive power. I love Jeeps. I have Jeep Cherokee Sport that I would like to lift a couple inches. What I really want is Jeep YJ someday. So, you can see why I don't have many girlfriends.:whip:

Heck, it's all nitro pals, so whatever gets you there.

I have a 2005 Wrangler Sahara, does that count?

I've always owned Jeeps. Actually really regret buying the Denali. Piece of crap compared to my 2001 Tahoe and all my Jeeps.

Kelly, just make a decision. Between your T-Maxx you already have and a Savage or a Revo, I do not think you will regret the next level purchase. Unless you have a fairly orderly and maintained track near you the idea of a buggy is probably not the best choice. The Revo or a truggy might fill your overal needs very well, but the Savage is still an awesome overall truck. Keep it to Revo or Savage (3 speed, please) and you can't got wrong. Now, quit posting and go buy it!

Just when I had made my decision. I think you may have some posts coming your way. Thanks for the advice. Now I have to decide again! j/k

dont get the savage, get the REVO its more relaible and traxxas customer service is farrrrr better
What trouble have you had with your Savage? Mine is running when everything else is broke.

Hugo, why not run the T-maxx as hard as ya can. Spend some time at the track watching and decide from there. See what class turns ya on. After all, it's winter. Got a couple of months before things get going real good.

Or I could bash the TMaxx and buy the revo, that way I can race and bash all I want.

The T-Maxx will not bash anywhere near the Savage will be able to. My vote stays for the Savage 25 LE :)
