I'm just a little down today as my 3.3 got hot for the first time. I'm only on the 8th tank and know how to tune these engines etc. and I was running slightly rich and no sustained high speeds. All that I can think of is the temp outside - it was 86 and a little humid here in Iowa. The engine starting cutting out as I accelerated, so I pulled it in and the engine was very VERY hot so I let it cool down for about 10 minutes and richened it 1/8. Then, it wasn't long after starting back up, it cut out and then died. I know it was too hot so I just quit for the day. Basically, I just didn't think symptoms like this would arrive so quickly, I really thought I had her running good. Should I be really concerned???

It's not the outside temps, we have been having temps well into the 90's and very humid here and I have no problems with heat. My guess is that your lsn is too lean are you have an air leak. Keep in mind it is possible and very common to run the hsn rich and the lsn lean which will give you hive temps and a big headache. Also everyone automatically thinks you have to lean both needles after break in, that is not always the case. After I completed the break in I leaned the hsn about 3/16 and fattened the lsn about 1/16 from factory settings to get a nice tune on my 3.3. Take your time with this engine, the more fuel you run through it the better it will get.

I just got back from 2 hours of relatively hard running with my revo here in IL. I peaked at 210 with my 18TM in my revo. I got hot... it didn't.

Take a look at what smaxxin is telling you. It sounds like something is off in tune and you don't know it or you have an air leak somewhere.
