To drive a traxxas that actualy runs right!!!

I have a 4909 3.3 that has been nothing but PAIN

Just took an old 2.5 tmaxx for a spin, it idles, reverse works, never stalled....WOW WOW WOW WOW

I am SO tempted to poop can the 3.3 but I know I must be doing something wrong.

If it doesn't run right, it's either shot or needs sealed. If there's compression, seal 'er up and start tuning from the factory settings. Or an 1/8th turn lean of them.

It runs..... just not what I would call "correctly"

I just sealed it, so that can be the problem.

I am the one who tuned the 2.5 and it runs great, I can't seem to get the 3.3 tuned right for love nor money.

Well, the 2.5 and 3.3 use the same carb... maybe try throwing the carb off the 2.5 on the 3.3 just to give it a try? Might find out you have a carb with problems vs the engine. Can usually get those cheap on ebay if that turns out to be your issue.
