This popped up on my local craigslit last night for 25 bucks so I picked it up. It's a Tamiya 1/12 porsche Newman 956 RM Mk.7. Unfortunately it did not come with the original body. It is kit no. 8508 with a 1985 copyright.

there is a slight twist in the rear end. I think it can easily be straightened.

The TX doesn't work, and I got no resistance from the servo with the car powered, but I can manually move the arm on the mechanical speed control and she runs!

I don't know if I should sell it or pull the electronics out (put them to the side for later), and throw a cheap brushed 540 set up in it and drive it around the warehouse at work. For 25 bucks I could go either way.

That's good news :D

Classic Tamiyas seem to sell well.

I couldn't stay of Craigslist and ended up getting these 2 for 1. One is a belt driven 4x4 sc10 and the other is 2wd sc10. The 4x4 needs a servo plug replaced and the 2wd runs great. They both have castle 5700kv motors. One with a reedy and one with a castle esc. 4x4 needs reciever also. Got lots of good parts, too.
