Old Rustler Rehab

hey all I have a old traxxas rustler electric, with a trinity motor. I think its a 8 turn but I'm not sure.. This thing has been sitting for quite some time and all that it needs is a speed control.. Everthing seems to be geared towards brushless setups know but I would like to keep the truck "as is" is there a esc that will work with brushless or brushed version? can I run my brushed motor on lipo instead of the 7 cell nicad pack? thanks Paul
