I got a heli from heartbreak. it was a night ranger or something like that lol "WAS" ya i got it up a few times panic set in i was like uhh its flying now what lol so i set it down. I had it out in the parking lot.... ya... cars.... anyway i got it about 15 feet up and it started drifting i was like oh poop. so I hit "the brakes" Well news flash its not a rc car.... result... crazy spin into the top of the car port luckily it didn't hit a car... So ya no more air born poop for me!

There's a lesson I learned the hard way, too. Helis are very cool looking when they fly. But the reality is simple. Crashes happen. And they cost. It's not like our trucks that can take a fair beating without breaking. Basically, if one of the blades hits the ground, the bird will beat itself to death and you might as well grab your wallet on the way through the door.

Yeah buddy, that's the way flight works. I had a small heli for a minute as well. I wasn't doing too bad really but it just didn't grab me like I always thought it would. I've wanted a heli since I was a child. At any rate, may be again someday when I'm older and can devote more time to learning.

Ya i would like to learn but it seems very expensive if one crash does it lol.

I spent hours on a sim to learn to fly one. I got to the point where I didn't have a lot of fear and I'd just zip it up in the air and start doing circuits. But once I got the real heli out and spooled up, I was totally freaked. I don't think I've had my heli more than 4 feet off the ground yet.

I'm on the sim right now learning how to fly one. I mainly want to run an onboard camera on a heli and shoot aerial video of my surface RC's bashing or crawling.

I feel your pain bro, I have banged up two helis so far. It's been a while but I'm starting to get the itch again.

You got it installed? No problems? I don't know if you've registered through RealFlight yet, but I might have to sign off on that G2 serial number before you can register it. Not much reason to, though, since they're up to G4 now.

Yeah I did the same thing taking of is easy but the when it starts to float over the fence you realise you have no idea how to turn and stuff so I just let go and hoped for the best well it landed on the tail propeller snapping every thing but the cap thing. Now I stick to cars and stuff.

And the guy at my LHS made it look so easy when he showed my son a heli in action. lol, then again he's been flying for 20+ yrs.

He said if we hung around a lot more, he would teach us to fly.

Sorry to see your heli didn't survive it's landing :\

LOL. the other half had a chopper for about 3 months and had it out one day. Apparently he wasn't paying attention to it and it smashed into the front of the house into a million little pieces. Needless to say it didn't hang around long after that. :)

Dude I break enough poop on a ground vehicle, I don't even wanna see the damage I can wreak on a vehicle that's suppose to be airborne.
