I bought an associated monster gt that has a mach 427 motor on it last sun. from craigslist I had the guy run it up and down his road and it shifted and everything good the only thing wrong was it dose not have a body so I give him 100 bucks for it I have been driving it around and have not really had any thing go wrong knock on wood and I can get it tuned good. And I am new to the rc world this is the first nitro truck I have ever owned it was hard to get it tuned at first but I always start at the recommended for the motor and tune from there. I can run one tank of fuel though it with on problem but I don't have a pack for it so I am running 4 AA's in it so I don't run it much longer then that cause I don't want to lose control of it. So anyone that is going to buy a used one just be careful about it and you should be fine.:D

+1. Failsafe and a 5 cell rx pack for the radio system. That will bring your servos to life and provide a good amount of run time.

I've seen Tenergy 2/3A(the standard size that most 1/10 and 1/8 vehicles use) for as low as $12 on ebay. Then you have to pick up a charger that is 5 cell capable, and charges at around 1 amp. Just post a link to what you find and we'll tell you if it will work for you.

For NiMH packs, use 1/10 C for standard charge. 1/3C for fast charge.

So a 2200mAh pack = 0.2A standard charge, give it 12-14 hours. You are unlikely to damage it this way.

Fast charge give it 0.7A and charge it for no longer than 5 hours or until the charge shuts off whichever is shorter.

Charging them at 1C, eg. 2.2A will probably break them. I broke my 2700mAh AA cells charging them at 2.7A.

hey thank you guys for all the info sounds great just have to go get one now
