umm... if you are getting yourself into something large why not just go with gas, and get over nitro?

I've looked into the TT EK4, just didnt do anything for me.
Why not gas....because they are WAY over what i want to pay..would LOVE to get one of those 1/6 scale MT trucks, but DANG!

Scott

LOL.............. .46 is not the same as 4.6 kinda like the Traxxas 2.5....its a .15 The mills are just described in different ways. The Savage 4.6 is a .28

YEAH! they are a pretty penny, but hey its only money

LOL :jk:

Right on psunitro:
Savage 4.6 = .28/4.6cc..2.9hp

Cen Genesis 46 = .46/7.7cc..5hp

BIG difference under the hood. Since the big thing is the .46/5hp powerplant i guess HPI wanted to fool thier buyers into thinking the new 4.6 was the same..if not why didnt they just stick to what they had going and call thier 3rd generation a Savage 28....hmmmm?
A lot of guys slam the Genesis, but then they turn around and buy the Hot Bodies Truckzilla upgrade which has the .46/5hp powerplant...pretty funny to drop almost $700 on a Savage when you can spend $500 and get the real deal with the Genesis LE and have all the upgrades you want already.

Limited Edition features:

*Radio upgrade:
Airtronics MX3 FM Radio System

The GENESIS 46 now comes with the digital display FM Airtronics MX3 Radio System. Features include digital trim settings, multi car model memory, battery voltage meter and much more.

*Motor:
5 HP Power Plant

The GENESIS 46 has an extremely powerful 46cc engine that puts out up to 5HP! The NX76 is the first engine of its size that is designed for Monster Trucks. This engine features A.B.C. construction (Aluminum, Brass, and Chrome) that provides longer engine life and a smoother power band.

*Servos:
The GENESIS 46 comes with three 144oz high torque all metal gear ball bearing servos. These servos offer extreme durability with torque fit for the king of monster trucks. The GENESIS 46 steers and throttles over its competition with ease .

*Aluminum tranny case with 6 gear differential:
The GENESIS now comes with a super strong Aluminum differential case that houses the ultra strong 6-gear differential. This is by far the strongest differential system ever developed in the industry.

If you want to see the upgrades i will put on my Genesis LE, check this link(look under CEN racing).

dfn_doe...HELL yea..like your thinking, i do like the stock 55 series wheels..but if ya can go bigger...DO IT!!!

Scott

YEAH Cause bigger is better.....
you do realize the super large tires put serious strain on the drivetrain right?
drop the primary gear ratio when you swap wheels or you'll be frying clutches....

No need to put words in my mouth, I know that bigger does not always mean better. I was mostly joking about the larger wheels, but am smart enough to realize that larger wheels are equivalent to higher final drive (numerically lower) and all the resultant effects of that including greater torque on the diffs and primary gears....

However the already huge Gen would look pretty frickin' badass with 8.5" tires you must admit :)

my post seems a little harsh but I was really joking too.....and giving pointers if the info wasn't already known so you don't burn stuff up......they do LOOK cool but after seeingwhat Big joe 40s do to drivetrains I stay away from oversized tires now.......although I do still beleive "E' ah hola Ulah" (spelling ?)

Well, since the Genesis is made for big ass tires and huge torque, i think it would be able to handle the Swamp Kongs. Wont handle for crap with huge tires like that, but hell, it would be awesome looking. I personally dont like the look of the Genesis. It just looks ugly to me... to big and bulky (shut up Plaid).

I like the look and it looks cool driving around and all but not the best handling truck and I definately would race it or jump it.....just look good driving it around, I guess I'm saying it's a truck that just screams for MTV to come along and pimp it out w/ 40" televisions facing in all directions so it would be "pimp"......it's a nice novelty truck.....better than most off brands but still novelty more than anything from what I see of them....

Thats exactly how i feel about it. I'm a little weary about buying anything other than the big named stuff... I wouldnt race something like that (i dont think you could anyway with the .46) and i wouldnt trust it off of jumps becuase almost 20 pounds going through the air wont have a nice smooth landing...

my lhs had some cens (dont think they were this model) they said they got one for a demo truck.. it broke 6 times and didnt make ONE lap!!! I'm sorry and i understand your love for cen. but bring it is all i got to say.. my savage is basicaly stock.. you follow me and see who breaks first.

and on the speed.. it doenst matter how fast you are if you dont finish the race (or have to pack up early from the bash)

toughness may not mean much to you but i drive my r/c's and i drive them hard. watch the dayton bashers video. we have scared a guy off because he said we were to rough for his taste. i push my r/c's to the limit (well normaly past the limit) and i feel that truck would slam into its limit WAY befor my savy even got warmed up.

i dont race ether, and i agree with plaid, the savage is NOT a race truck stock. but again like i said, you can't win with a dnf.

were (we = dayton bashers group) not the type of driver that goes out and runs to see "how cool my truck looks with the new wheels" we go out to see how far it will jump, how high it can go, how many cartwheels we can do, hell i even done some backflips off a tree..

the way i drive requires me to have the toughest rides made (that i can afford) and the cen just doenst cut it.

my lhs doesn't even carry them, they said they wouldnt stock junk.

just my oppinion and I'm entitled to it so NO FLAMING!! consider yourself warned

Warned...lol..I'm not a "flammer"..I'm straight!!

Beason, not EVERYONE wants to or cares about racing thier RC.
I'm not looking at a CEN Genesis to race..come on! and if i wanted to bash the hell out of a MT, i'd buy a Revo and put the RPM goodies on it and have at it.

As far as your LHS "demo" it probably was a 1st Generation....they've improved the Genesis a great deal.
Speed...we'll the only 2 reviews I've read about this truck both say 37 mph..for a truck that weighs 17 lbs. thats darn good considering that most MT's run 40-45mph and are 1/2-1/3rd the weight of this truck.

Its ok that your a Savage lover...thats your thing..i just dont care for them the more i look at thier set ups...i will have to say the great design of having the gas tank hanging over the TVP with only body clips is awesome...lol...well thought out ....body clips holding everything together..sweet!

And for the record one of the last RCCM mags. had a nice picture of the CEN teams sponsored racer with his Genesis truggy.....yup its a racer and battles with the other truggys(the big dogs, not little local functions) ..you can even see the new 55 series wheels and step pin tires on the CEN homepage.....I've also read alot about in on the Genesis forum.(thats for you RACERS out there).

Like i said, love it or hate it..i started this thread to get the word out about another MT on the market for guys interested..thats all.

Scott
