I am looking to get a new mill and wonder how the Pico .26 Maxx is to tune. I currently have a three year old TRX2.5R that is at the very end of it's life and am pulling my hair out tuning it and replacing glow plugs to make it run is getting real old!

great engine

had one in my revo

did some damage to it

sold it for $30 with 1.5g on the internals.
easy to tune, never had a problem besides from the damage that happend to it.

mine runs well with tons of power and is easy to tune if you know what you're doing. definitely a good engine.

Are drive trains more likely to blow up with this mill? Any suggestions for hop ups? I am guessing a chassis stiffener would be a good idea too...

If you leave some slip in the slipper clutch the most you will do is melt the the clutch or strip a stock spur-gear. The slipper clutch is there to help preserve the drive train from abuse.

well I stripped two spur gears once I got this motor broken-in, once I upgraded to RRP spur/pinion it's worked fine. also I just broke a pin inside my tranny (see my thread about it). hopefully now my tranny is bullet-proof.

I don't see where or how you could mount a chassis-stiffener, and honestly I haven't been able to notice my chassis flexing at all with it...

I ran one when I installed NE's BB kit with an XTM 24.7. My 2.5 chassis had a crack in it in the engine bay. I replaced the chassis with a 3.3 chassis and that plate. I didn't notice any flex after that. I fried a few spurs with the 18TM in my 2.5 chassis.
