I noticed that a lot of you guy’s also run buggy’s, so this might be helpful for you.

I bought the duel disk brake kit for my savage a wile ago and noticed a few problems.
#1- the disk would hit the CB
#2- they wore down fast
#3- they would bind and weren’t very smooth.

So for problem #1 I used a grinder and rounded off the front of the CB and also ground down the brake disk a little.
Now to fix problems 2 & 3 I got a little creative. In my part’s box I still had a brake set up for a hyper 7. After a little grinding and enlarging the screw holes on one side it’s perfect. Now it stops on a dime and gives you 9 cents change. It’s also very liner and smooth.

What’s you’re opinions on this setup?

I thought my brakes worked fine but for jumping this may be useful! Can you put a step by step on what you did? I have thought of the same thing but never thought of having my thought come to fruition. What servo do you use for T/B?

T/B servo is the stock SF2 steering servo.
As far as the mod, what I did was throw away the original pads that came with the duel disk brake kit. Then I took the ofna pads and ground down the U shape so that it would clear the hub. Then I cut a slot in one end of the pads so that the screws would match up with the holes in the Trans. The other problem I had was the disk getting caught on the CB. So What I did for that was cut an end off of an old dog bone, chucked it in a drill, and then used that to spin the brake set up wile I dremeled the outer disk. I also used a dremel to round off the front of the CB. With this set up I could flip it on its lid if I wanted to.

I forgot to take before pic's of this one. sorry

having to much brakes will mess up the diffs especialy if you have big tires i lost like 2 diffs after i did the dual disk set up....nice set up though

I use the stock fiber disk and a futaba S3305 for T/B. It will endo if I want it too.

I didn't like the dual brakes either. To grabby and noisy. All you would hear was rattle rattle rattle... thought I had a toddler in there.

did you guys try putting spacers like springs or fuel tubing to rid the rattling?

I didn't. Thought about it, but after getting it apart, I didn't feel like messing with it. The hex in the center of the discs wore and made the brakes bind... so I ditched it and went back to stock.

The way I have this set up now, it dosent rattle, snag or wear like it used to.
