I am building a new Savage SS and I am using a Futaba 3PM with an Ofna failsafe. I am setting up and testing the radio gear outside of the truck and it all works great. I then added the Ofna failsafe (radio gear still outside truck) and noticed that when I go from full brake to the idle position my throttle server twitches back & forth ever so slightly while at the idle position. I disconnected the failsafe and the twitching went away. I reconnected the failsafe and the twitching started again. I tried to re-route my wiring but that did not help.

If I pull the throttle toward WOT and then release it back to the idle position the twitching goes away at idle. Go from full brake back to idle and the twitching comes back. If I turn off my radio the failsafe goes to full brake, turn the radio back on and the servo goes back to idle position and it twitches until I pull the throttle.

Has anyone seen this before?

I am using a fully charged 6V 1100mAh hump pack.

I just called OFNA and described the problem. They tech guy seems to think that there is a problem with the failsafe. He told me to send it back and he said that they would replace it with a new one.

At least they are willing to work w/ you on replacing it. Some companies won't do that.

BTW, you might want to check to make sure there isn't any metal-on-metal rubbing anywhere. Sometimes that can cause some intereference. You should also double check your battery to see what voltage it is really putting out. Do you have a voltmeter to check it? Is it the stock servo's?

My batt pack is currently reading 5.83V.
Radio is a Futaba 3PM

Receiver is a Futaba R133F

Throttle servo is a Futaba S3003

I am positive that the Ofna failsafe is either faulty or incompatible.

Yeah, it's probably the failsafe. When you put in the new servo's did you use the little rubber feet that came w/ them. Sometimes that can help minimize glitching. Other than that, the only thing left to do is send it back to Ofna.

Later...:mex:

i had a venom that as soon as i connected it the servo went nutts .... emailed them .. they gave me an rma # sent it to them ... they emailed me said the unit was defective .. and they will replace with a new one .. but at the moment they were out .. expecting a new shipment soon ... he emailed me again when they got it and shipped it to me... very good support and communication !!!
