I know most of you will mock them, but Ofna is the Traxxas of the 1/8 scale buggy world. They allow more people like myself the chance to own a buggy and maybe someday work up to one of the big boys.

I am just about set on getting an Ofna MBX R2 because of the pillow ball suspension. They have an 80% built kit that allows you to pick the motor and radio you want, which is what I'm going to do. This kit can be picked up for about $150.

One reason I'm going with Ofna is because I have local parts support. People around here even race the LX Pro against Infernos and Mugens and are competitive.

So if you have an Ofna buggy, please share setup tips, engine tips, hop-up info, and parts compatibility info between kits.

congrats on you buggy Darth. It is a great buggy and you will have a blast running it. Any ideas yet on a engine?

I'm looking at a Hyper .21 8-port right now. Looks like the only issue with it is the tuning gets goofy if you start messin with the mid needle.

I still havent messed with my mid range on my Sirio so you should be able to find a great tune with that engine while leaving the MRN be.

the Ofna Force .25 is a monster BTW. I have seen more than one run in an Ofna and its a big job trying to control ALL that power.

Since I've started this thread I have been assimilated into the collective and I decided on an Inferno 7.5 sport instead.

Guess we don't need an Ofna thread anymore. Got a nice 7.5 thread running instead. :spam

Argh!! This site makes me crazy! It's a love/hate relationship because you fellas come up with too many options!!

I kill myself over every R/C decsion I make, but this buggy thing is really killing me. After reading posts here and on another large forum, I'm not so sure the 7.5 Sport is right for me.

Now I'm looking at the Ofna 9.5 RTR. Linkage

this is not a knock on any buggy, but when you suggest someone to spend over $500 please tell them why, and "they are big boys" is not enough.

you still didnt expalin yourself. Do you understand that when you recommend something you should tell someone why? Example: I like the Hyper 7 because it handels well and has aftermarket support, and it is real tuff ect. Get it? See when you recommend something and just say its good it not only makes you seem unintelligent and that you don't really know anything about the product, it gives the person you are telling no actual information other than the product exsists

0WN3D!

BTW I would say that $469.99 is real close to $500 but thats just me.:whack:

Darth - Where do you see the Ofna MBX R2 kit for $150? Tower has it for $220.
