ofna .32 big block in revo???

ok so just curious uf anyone has put a ofna .32 in thier 2.5 chassis revo?......if so what were the results and what is necessary to get it in there?...do you have specs on the motor?.....i was searching arould and found what i think might be a good deal on the motor 152$+shipping 8$ the specs i have found are

the hp rating doesn't really please me much since some of the .28's out there are 3.6 i just wanna know if its more hp than the .28 and how hard it would be to get it in my truck....i have a 3.3 in it now i just want more power....any advice let me know plz and thank you
 
well if you really want something that big in a 2.5 revo then more power to ya, i suggest you get a wheelie bar to keep it from going to its lid everytime you hit the throttle, a picco .26 is more than enough power for a 3.3 revo and it would be insane on a 2.5 i am building 2.5 right now with a picco .26 for strictly on road. . .ok now i'm just babbling, in order to put that enging on i suggest a few things, robinson racing gears in the tranny and also a robinson racing spurgear/clutchbell combo and that takes care of the tranny, you are gonna need a big block engine mount and prolly a good pipe, oh and i would put bigger wheels and tires on it just to attempt to keep all the power under control
 
yeah i plan on putting bigger tires on it a buddy of mine has some moabs i wanna throw on it....i use my revo as kind of a basher since i jump it alot but I'm trying to get it to and all around good rig....I'm tossing around the idea of making a custom set of a-arms for it so that i can get it wider....since i do have medium sized tracks in the front and back yard lol....and i really just enjoy driving it i like racing it on the tracks but i need to get the center of gravity down and more power....I'm not much of a wheelie kind of guy more of a top speed and big air kinda guy lol....need more input come on guys
 
You are going to tweak the chassis with that big heavy engine.
Too make it wider use 1/2" offset wheels.
 
lol no worries i have and extra chassis so if it does tweak it then i know where to weld on some reinforcments....i love tig welding
 
You'll need to get all steel driveshafts and hope that rpm axle carriers will hold up. A .32 is just too big and heavy. A.26 Picco would probably out rip it anyways. Tried and trued and not too many crazy mods needed. Buy the time you get your revo to hold up to that heavy of an engine, you'll have twice as much weight and twice as much invested. Not a good recipe for low, fast and big air. If you want a lower center of gravity, putting bigger tires on it is kinda pointless, too.
 
I have a Savage .25 in mine and got my ass viciously spanked by a OS .18TZ. When I was burning out and doing wheelies he was half way don't the straight. Not totally true I had him off the line every time and out of turns but top end.......forget it. I was had by a small block.
 
I hear ya Joey. We went through a couple different mid-blocks on my buddies built up 4908 Maxx. A picco and a Sirio .27. We put the 3.3 on an old 2.5 chassis. The big maxx sits and the beater sees a lot of use. It's just a ton more reliable and the 3.3 is just a perfect match for the shorter chassis. We've had a helluva time keeping the 1st-2nd gear cluster working right with the bigger engines.
 
ok so you guys have made me wanna change my mind then.....what is the best motor i can get to fit in my 2.5 chassis revo without being overly heavy and what not.....if not the .32 then what would still give me the ability for just be able to pop it into a wheeling in say the middle of a moderat speed run.....i know it may sound stupid to be able to just pop it into a wheelie whenever but thats where you have to learn throttle control and that I'm willing to do i just dont want to have to buy 3 different motors to get what i want....o and btw i have cvds on the way :D
 
I am really fond of the .26 Picco Max. I think it's the best in between that I have ran. Good low end and screams too.

:goodpost: +1 on that one bud i have a picco in my 3.3 revo and i love it, it will pull the wheels up when it shifts to second gear as long as my tuning is right and about 80% of the time it is DEAD ON so a picco .26 maxx or JL RedDot will do the trick for ya especially on 2.5 revo, its got a shorter wheelbase
 
These guys all helped me decide on a badass engine for my revo 2.5. When they all recommended the Picco .26 max, that is what I looked for. All you really need to make it work is an engine mount.....and I just won a new one w/pull start on Ebay, with a high bid of only $152.50, $10.00 shipping! It will be here in a few days! I can't wait! Good luck!:D
 
That is a great price. I really like mine. Runs Great. Perfect power....enough to be stupid when you want to and just almost overpowered.

would it be OK to run 30% in my picco? because I have almost a full gallon left. Also, what gearing do you recommend? It's on a 2.5 revo.
 
You know to be honest I don't remember....I don't think I ever changed it from stock gearing. So it was super fast off the line and it still kept it's topend speed too. I lost nothing....only gained. Best of both worlds for sure.

Thanks, I'll try that first, and just make adjustments as needed. I'll probably put the biggest spur that came with my kit.
