Hi,

I have a T-Maxx with a 2.5 engine that runs like a POS.
I was wondering if the O.S. is better than the TRX. I have heard from some other people it is a better engine. If I were to get one how would it compare to my Maxx? Also, is the O.S. easier to tune than the 2.5?

Thanks

The answer to all your questions is YES.

The OS will out perform, out last and will be easier to tune then your trx. (I'm assuming that your going with the 18tm)

But either way no matter which os you go with it will be easier to tune and will run better then the trx

You didn't really specify which OS18. There's an OS 18TZ, OS 18TM and OS 18CV-R. All are good engines and I ordered them by power.

The 18TM is a screamer of an engine and is a simple install if you get the one for the maxx. It will come with a better header than stock. I'd suggest upgrading your pipe though to something that can breath better. That can be said for the 2.5 as well.

The 18TM will kill a 2.5 any day of the week. The 18TM runs about neck and neck with the 3.3 with the 3.3 having a bit of an edge at peak HP but the 18TM has a smoother power curve that lasts longer through the RPM range.

I had a 2.5R revo, installed a 18TM, thought I wanted a BB revo, installed a BB and now I'm back to the 18TM. The 18TM is actually faster because it's controllable, but still gutsy. Tunes easy, starts easy and so far has done well for me. I have about 4 gallons through mine.

I had a .18cvrx on a maxx, best maxx I ever owned.sold it after alitte over a gallon, dont miss it though. The cvrx had more torque than the 2.5 so I'm sure the tm is kickass.
