so all you do is pull it off....it feels like it needs to be unscrewed off what do i need to do?????

yes i did remove that is it normal for the flywheel to be hard to get off????

Yeah, it's normal. The flywheel is primarily a friction fit. There's a brass cone (collett) under the flywheel which essentially pinches it in place. Yes, there's a nut to keep it all on, but the friction between the flywheel, collet and crankshaft is what keeps the whole thing from spinning. So it takes a bit of force to pop the flywheel free from that. I'll have to try the battery terminal puller like NC said. Sounds like a neat trick.

Get a flathead screwdriver. Insert it behind the flywheel and gently twist. Do it in more than one spot. It sould pop off. Don't pry it back and forth, twist the screwdriver.

Get a rubber hammer and TAP, note I said tap, the back of the flywheel until it comes off.

Don't tap .. just use the screwdriver to twist it off. You can tell when you're using too much pressure. A blow by even a rubber hammer (no matter how gingerly used) can not be really controlled. Your bearing will thank you for it. Persuade it, don't manhandle it.
