I'm looking for a new toy for my self, I have a Tnx, Savage, and Elec Evader.
I want another one for my collection.
Mostly i want it to use on a parking or open smooth areas.
I dont race there are no local Touring tracks, I would have to travle to Phoenix to race on a Touring Track.
So my questions are really simple.

Out of the box wich is faster?
Which one breaks less?
My local hobby shop dont carrie neihter of parts for them so that dont matter.
I like the HPI WRX EVO or the BMW M3.
Also like the NTC3
I dont know which one to choose. help is needed.
I like HPI because its very solid and durable.
I really never owned any AE cars.
thanks

AE is a very durable car. Very easy to maintain and repair. If you wish to build it, it has one of the most well thought out manuals there is. No jumping between bags. It's all in sequential order. If you get the RTR, it's just as capable just doesn't have all the hopups. As far as parts availability, that all depends on your LHS.

Since you stated that you will be mostly running in the park, both the EVO and NTC3 are capable. The NTC3 just has the capability of being converted to race form with the simple addition of foams and suspension setup. The EVO is lacking in a few critical things such as droop.

I would suggest the NTC3 just because if you get the itch to race one day, it's the best of both worlds. The evo is mainly a parkinglot basher.

THanks for your reply any other people want to comment on the EVO subaru car>?

I agree with the NTC3. It is just a better platform. You have the better motor position IMO, rear exhaust. The tunability is better. The EVO is just too much of a basher type car. I hadthe NTC3 and the OG RS4 3. I upgraded it then sold the parts as it was not as easy to run and maintain...

I'm all for the EVO....but that's just me.

I like HPI cars because of their international parts availability (not to mention customization possibilities). The TC3 tends to be more of an American fan favorite. In places like Japan, for example, the FW-05R/RR/RRR is the favorite and with good reason (well, now also that new mugen shaft drive MSX-something). Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is: Make sure you look around alot until you find EXACTLY what you're looking for...there's plenty of cars and makers out there to choose from. Good luck making your decision.

:smoke:

For racing, the AE is the better platform of the two. For bashing, the evo is a bit better since there's so many parts available. The NTC3 has the parts availability as well but the final decision will be based on what you want to do with the car and what parts are available locally.

Well my local hobby shop dont carry parts for either cars, they only stock MT parts.
They are no tracks where i live so its pretty much never going to see a track.
Or I may just get that 1/18 Xray nitro.

Id recommend an rs4 18ss for parking lot bashing and or intermediate racing. I have had a RS4 Evo for a while now, and it has not disappointed me. (I don’t think it will too) it has a good and strong desgin base.

Didnt your crank just blow out of yours?? Thatd be disapointing..lol..
But yeah I agree. The rs4 will be the better basher for ya if ya just want to rip up the parking lots. But if ya do want to someday try racing, youll be better setup with the NTC3. Plus the Ntc3 will also be a great parking lot basher. (I also am a HPI fan still, I own a Savage and a Rs4 3) But I know if I did want to race someday, I would sell the rs4 3 and get a Ntc3. With either car your going to be doing good in my opinion. If ya dont keep Rc's for very long, and do alot of buying and selling, I think the Ntc3 tends to hold its value more. (I think anyway) Usually when people get a Ntc3 they keep it till she pukes. But again I've been happy with my rs4 3 (Which I bought set up nice for $140)

Yes it did, that was the 18ss Engine I purchased after selling the T-15 it had. The sedan itself is well built, things tend to happen, i have seen an OS Engine Break a Crankshaft too, does it make it bad? No, not really. Nothing is made perfect; the material used to make the parts isn’t always equal.

Now shame on you for trying to down grade HPI when you’re a fan! :jk:

I was just yankin your chain. You said ya had 5+ gallons on it, so I think it proved its a good mill. I wasn't downgrading anything though. Like I said there both good cars, but if your gonna race the Tc3 is a better setup. And that stuff about the sales is just what I have noticed.
