NTC3 Bellcrank Question

Okay - so I robbed my NTC3 of electronics to get the new RC1oGT-FT up and running, and right now my NTC3 is pretty stripped, being a good time to do an adjustments or repairs.

I have noticed that my bellcrank has been steadily increasing its play lately. Before i did the teardown - the play was almost a half inch in both directions. Any ideas on how to solve this, as it makes the car twitchy on long straights at the track? Someone mentioned a replacement bearing set, anyone have any info on this? It isnt something that I have to do, but thought about it, since i have it all torn down right now anyway.

The bell moves .5 in each direction....
or the wheels move .5 because of front-end play?

the wheels move .5

this is due to a combination of ballend play and bellcrank play. if i hold the turnbuckles still and shake it - i still get play in the bellcrank.

You will need to address each front end part individually.
Front end play is always a compound issue, it all adds up fast.

I'm not familiar with the bell on your RC so someone else will need to help you with that.

For the ball ends I would do 2 things.

1- Replace the cups. This is a good habit to practice.

2- A great trick to remove Ball End Play is to place Shock Shaft Gaskets on the ball ends before snapping the cup on. Doing this will apply a small amount of outward pressure on the cup holding it tight against the ball. Its amazingly cheep and effective.

What a great idea - put it on the ball - or insert it into the cup?
