where does it plug in at?

Directly into the receiver... but I'd suggest getting one of these to replace your current switch:

The receiver pack plugs into it as does the receiver. The remaining plug is there for your charger so you don't have to plug/unplug the receiver pack to charge it.

Then you can have the pigtail sticking out somewhere to plug your charger into.

Or, you can get crafty and buy one of these as well:

Then you don't have a dangly pig tail, but you have to find somewhere in the battery box that you can cut a hole and mount it. It's very handy and leaves a clean looking setup.

It's similar to what I did on my aftershock, but the receptical I bought didn't come with a rubber thing to plug it when I wasn't charging... should have looked harder at my LHS:

This was after a feeble attempt at changing the tint on my receiver box to green... FYI, boiling a sharpie doesn't end well... but it does match my chassis a bit better now. The green dye I bought turned stuff blue. Go figure. (maybe changing the balloon to green will help... pink just isn't doing it for me;) )

Anyway, I've found having this setup makes it much more convenient to charge stuff. I still need to add one to my buggy, but I don't drive it much.

The glue around the receptacle is gorilla glue... some really good stuff. It foams up when it cures. I just wanted it to help avoid moisture getting in and to make the bond stronger since the little screws are only screwing into the soft thin walled plastic of the receiver box. Has held up well for quite some time.
