new problem for me, my right rear wheel has no power going to it. hub's fine, dogbone's fine. what's wrong with it?? just replaced the diff. maybe one of the gears in there stripped out or something?? help, please

i just quit working, it was all good at first. i'm guessing the axl doesn't even spin....

i put it in wet grass, held the truck steady and gave it throttle, only the left wheel spun. if i lift the truck up completely, all tires spin with throttle....

Check the back of your wheel, the rims could have stripped on the hex hubs. If they are the stock wheels, then this may be your problem. The stock savage wheels are known to strip out. Let us know what you find.

Everything might be ok. The diffs on the truck are of an "open" design. They will always transfer an equal amount of torque to both wheels. If the left wheel has no traction it will spin freely while the right wheel does nothing, even if the right wheel has traction.

Lift the rear of the truck leaving both front tires on the ground. Hold the left tire still with one hand and try to spin the right tire firmly with your other hand. The right tire should not spin as long as the front two tires stay on the ground (without spinning). Hold the right tire still with one hand and try to spin the left tire firmly. The left tire should not spin.

Let go of both rear tires. Spin the left rear tire and the right rear tire should spin freely in the opposite direction. Spin the right rear tire and the left rear tire should spin freely in the opposite direction.

it all happened the way you said it should rossb. if you don't hold the other wheel and spin, shouldn't they spin in opposite directions?? cuz the front does that, but when i spin the back wheel, it turns all four in the same direction. is that right??

As I said above raise the rear tires while leaving the front tires on the ground (this locks the ring gear and pinion outside the diff). Spin the left rear tire and the right rear tire should spin freely in the opposite direction. Spin the right rear tire and the left rear tire should spin freely in the opposite direction.

This procedure tests the spider and side gears inside the rear diff.

Sounds like there is something wrong with your rear diff. You will need to take the diff apart.

the rear diff was it, one of the small gears was in pieces and slammed throught the housing...... what did i do wrong when i put it together?

Did you have 4 small gears in there? Some people still break the small gears even though they use the 4 small gear modification... At the moment we're looking for the best brand of gears to use in there...
