What are you thoughts on the Novak product line, any of the brushless systems, but in particular the combo kits.

Any feedback POS/NEG is appreciated.

Thanks so much

I have the HV-Maxx kit (the older 4400 version) mounted in my e-maxx/t-maxx hybrid and like it a lot.

No problems with the kit itself at all. Since I used my t-maxx front and rear ends (the t-maxx uses beefier diff housings than the e-maxx) with Maximizer cups, RRP gears, MIP CVD's all around, RRP slipper with steel spur, steel idler gears in the tranny and pinion, the drivetrain easily takes the strain the brushless motor puts on it. I actually prefer to it instead of one of my nitros due to the ease of use. The instant torque beats all nitros I have come across off the line easily.

I plan on upgrading the motor to the the new 6.5 by spring.

I recommend the kit to anyone looking to make the switch to brushless. They just have to be aware that upgrading the drivetrain is a must.

It has the Novak HV-Maxx ESC that came with the kit along with a cooling fan.

I am running it with (2) 7 Cell IB3800 NiMH Packs.

How long have you been running it and how hard?

Also, have you though about Lipo yet?

I have been running it for a little over a year with the brushless kit.

Here is the link to my original thread. https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35205

I actually raced it this weekend on a tight on-road track. Three 4 minute runs without any issues. I run all my rigs pretty hard when I take them out. The e-maxx is no exception.

I have not considered lipos. Too much to worry about with the charging and discharging. I don't really want to deal with the hassle.

Hey robmob,

I may need your help putting a value on a EMAXX with a Novak system and other upgrades. Guy brought it into the store and wants a value.

Several of my friends have them. They are very fast in my opinion.
Seem to be reliable too.

My bad....it is a HACKER system. Too tired when I posted it.

my novak ss 5800 was awesome, i ran it like mad in my TC3 and it never missed a beat.

only problem was, when the car would get near its top speed, it'd be going so fast it would just spin out from lack of downforce (no joke). it looked like that video of the RX7 making a top speed run in bonneville if youve seen it.
