My t-max 2.5 is running alright but it could be better, i'm having a problem keeping it running i thrash it about abit then when i bring it back 2 me it just dies, it just doesn't want to keep running.
The idle is quite high to keep it running and the idle is about right, haven't people had a problem with the carb and opted to change for a better carb that will hold it's tune,
Plus when it stops it's ovously hot and when it's hot it will just not start again till it's cool.

2.5's are good about this. They are very hard to tune and keep tuned. Just mess with it, it will come to you and you will be happy. Good luck, hope it comes out good for ya.

I put a mutant head on it which helps keep the temps down. I like it. What fuel are you using? Plug as well. Have you checked for any leaks on the engine? I had a prob on my MGT and there was a leak on the carb and the back plate. Good thing I had a friend point this out to me.

i'm using bluethunder 20%, and the mc coys mc9 glow plugs, my carb was about to come off the other day as it was soo loose but it's tight now, i've checked 4 air leans anyway and none. it overheates alot after a long straight but it produces alot of smoke when pulling away, i'm thinking that i may lean the lsn out and richen the hsn.

Sounds about right. I'd start by just richening the high a bit. If you want the engine to last a long time, run on the richer side of things. You may suffer a bit of performance, but it beats replaceing the engine sooner.

You know that MC59 is a hot plug. Unless you are in a cold environment then the "hot plug" is not necessary. You can use the MC-8 plug: a medium plug. I use the blue thunder and I can keep the temps to the mid 220's. Not that I am saying that it is always easy to hold a tune. I tune according to the weather mostly.

i am using the mc coys mc8's it was a typing error lol

Your low speed could be too lean I could be wrong though I would go back to factory settings and tune from there.
