Well I think what happen was the collet on the flywheel broke and the engine reved like WAY high and I think thats what did it. I think.. Thats the only thing that I can think of.
 
What OS is it? Do you intend on rebuilding it? If it's a 18TM, I'd be interested in it as a parts engine... I need a crankcase but refuse to spend the money for new when the piston/sleeve has many gallons through it.

Its an O.S. CV-R. I have a couple other O.S. motors that I'm gonna see it the con rod on those are the same. This thing didnt even have a smudge of black on the piston. Super tight pinch and eveything. It sucks. :(
 
almost what happend to me except mine blew at low idle i had no push rod just a bunch of shavings

I had seen something similar on 2 OS21RG's. One of the most reliable engines ever made. Completely blew me away that it happened when it did. Both blew shortly after break-in. Thankfully, neither were mine, but they were my bashing buddy. Did the exact same thing yours did. Just shattered the lower end of the con-rod.
