Ok I am lppkin to get into the buggy seen. What (I your oppinion) would be the best starter buggy that is race ready or little money put out to get ready to race.I dont need eletronic.I have that covered,Pull start not needed eather.I am lookin for the best buggy for durability and race worthyness .Ease of gettin parts is pretty inportant as well but no one in my are carries parts for 1/8th buggys anyway.I like the ofna's but those are the only buggys I have seen run.Sell me a buggy and give me some good reasons why you like what you have!:w00t:

The OFNA 9.5 Pro models are a damn hot buggy right now. Parts are fairly easy to come by and some can be interchanged with other brands as well. Thats a bonus of the 8th scale buggy world in general. They are also race worthy. Unless you are planning on racing the worlds championship, I see no reason to go with something else (and even then its not a bad choice!). I myself am partial to the Kyosho Inferno/Kanai series. But forget about easily getting true Kyosho parts at a reasonable price either. My Inferno treats me like a king!!! Expensive though... If you are not concerned about price, you may want to look into either a Kyosho or Mugen. Parts are abundant in the aftermarket manufacturer scene moreso than that of the company who actually makes them. Just be prepared to drop some cash.

I dont care for Durratrax or XTM buggies. Its more of a personal preference for me I guess. I've just seem too many of them come apart to want one.

I have a Mugen MBX4 XR Works and OS RZv01B for sale in the for sale section. Email me or send me a pm if you are interested.

Look's like a nice buggy FlyinRazorback!I need to sell my gt first to get a buggy.I have been watchin the buggy's run after my heat and they look like they are a tougher machine than the 10th scale.I watched a mbx r2 put a spankin on a 9.5 today but it was inproper set up and part drive on that .I do pretty good with the 10th scale but I would like to try somthing new!!:n00bie:

While the Ofna Hyper 7 and 9.5 are good buggies, they cann't hold a candle to the cheap cost of a Hot Bodies Lightning Pro. You can get the Pro with a sport engine and pipe for $320. If you want a better engine (only get it if you are used to tunning engines) then part the included engine and pipe out on ebay and you have a $200 chassis that will compete with any $400 Ofna, $500 Mugen or $600 Kyosho.

While I cann't comment on the durability of the Lightning Pro, as I have only raced it one weekend, it seems very beefy. Performs very good to. With the included sport engine I was only turning 1 second slower lap times than with my Mugen XR and a RB WS7 engine. Truthfully I cannot recommend the Lightning Pro enough. Only downside is parts support, but that is improving. I believe there are a few mail order places that now stock Lightning Parts.

Thanks for the compliment bustedparts. I used to do tenth scale. Once you get into the buggies, you'll never go back :bling:

Christian,
I hate to see it go too, but the new buggy is almost 6 bills and I got to get the money somewhere :cross:

i also agree on the lightning pro.. it is very durable buggy, all the LHS that could have sold me ofnas or others kept suggesting the pro even though they did not even have them in stock.. and could have sold me one of the ones sitting on the floor.. that costed more.. the stock 21bb tuned in will scream, i cannot imagine what a 8 port would do in it.. its already insane with a 16t cb..

I've had my Lightning Pro for some time. It is VERY durrable. I've jumped it 6+ feet and "landed" it upside down square on the shock towers. Nothing breaks. I've had to replace the wing, two lost screws and an eclip. Those are the only "repairs" I've had to make through several bash sessions. I love my Lightning Pro. It does require a radio, but most people have that.

Mugen MBX 5 if you want an extreme advantage on the track. Also the Storm Pro, and Thunder Tiger.

Why do these threads seems to repeat and repeat?

We should just copy and paste one thread to the other. Save sooooo much time....

Good luck on your buggy purchase. if you read some of the other threads in the 1/8 scale buggy forum, you'll see that we have this debate often.

Here are the two threads from when I was doing this:

What do yha think?

I wouldn't do it. Like humboldt said, the model was replaced 5 years ago. Also, is the engine a RZB or RZ-V01b? The RZB has been discontinued by OS as well.

Ok I got another offer on the gt. it is a eb4 limmited. What do you guys thik of that buggy?:naughty:
