hi, i just got my savage 25 a week ago and still on the process of breaking it in. but i noticed that there is an unusual noise crrrrrnnnngggg, but not to loud. is this normal? because my brother has a tmaxx and it doesn't produce this kind of noise. we are both new in this hobby. this is my first nitro car.
i just want to know if the save 25 really sounds like that while free wheeling. with the engine off. thank you very much. any comments would be much appreciated. tnx... :):tank:

with the engine off, roll the truck backwards and then stop. Is that the noise you hear?

unless its really loud its just the brake and the gears spinning. The t-maxx gears do not engage when you are just pushing it along so i think that is why your brothers t-maxx doesn't make much noise. Also i would check just to be sure your gear mesh isn't too tight.
A good rule of thumb is to use notebook paper to set the mesh. Loosen the engine mounts and put a strip of notbook paper between the clutch bell and the spur, push the engine back over towards the spur gear (not too hard) and the retighten the engine mount bolts. Take out the paper and check the mesh. It should be just about right.

yup, when you push it backwards and stop. you will hear the spur gear spinning and the sound is from inside the transmission. my gear mesh is fine coz i ran about 5 tanks w/o problems, i'm just curious if this sound is normal. thanx
