I just bought my first truck a tmaxx 4910 (2.5 engine) and i freed up the locked engine and now it will sit and idle great but then when you go to give it any fuel it will rev and the truck still wont move. I flip it from forward to reverse and in reverse it will act like it wants to try to drive but it still wont move. How do i fix this?

The truck will roll forward and reverse, the axles are new, the diffs are good the gears don't even look like they have been used, i have tightened the slipper, opened the tranny looked around no broken gears/ teeth.

Can you see what spins when it's running? Does the flywheel spin? Does the CB spin? Does the spur spin? Does the shaft the spur is bolted too spin? Do the output shafts from the trans to the diffs spin? Do any of those parts seem to be spinning and a decent rate of speed? If so, where does the spinning stop?

Could be a few things and knowing the answers to the above will help isolate the problem.

Well i seem to have answered my own question by just goofing around inside the tranny. The original owner seemed to have been in the tranny before and had adjusted the springs on the forward and reverse gears so that it would take EXTREMELY high rpms to engage. I did some loosening up and it drives just fine now. Hope this helps some one else some day!

hi mine is doing the same ,you have got to rev it all the way and it will go, did you loosen the alan nut in tranny

Yes i did. I made it just out from flush with the little edge that was visible in the hole. I would actually go a little in from there. Mine is a little jumpy but on the brake it will shift into reverse like it should (yes i still have reverse lol)

hi still can't get truck to go,4909 was running great untill i turned it over now it just revs up and wont go you can see the spur going and I've tightened the slipper any ideas guys

sounds like the clutch inside the tranny is bad. I dont have a lot of experience because i am new to this but that would be my guess. Or your clutch is stickey mabye check to see if you can move the pieces that flip out on the clutch in the tranny they could be dirty and sticky maybe?
