The dual disk brakes are great they improved my Savage's stopping power a lot but the stock brakes were not that bad just try making some adjustments on them and if they dont improve go with the dual disk brakes.

it is the hex that the brake works on...the little thing on the drive shaft..its not a hex any more....

thanks...now i gotta buy a new spur gear....my best friend and I just hooked...he has a t-maxx 2.5 and my savage pulled him all over the place....lol....and suggestions on a better spur gear?

Robinson Racing makes steel spur gear and clutch bell combos I have one on my Savage it was like $35 though but it is a lot tougher than the stock plastic.

Personally, I'd stick with the plastic spur and the stock brakes. Maybe by the hot bodies steel brake hub so it doesn't wear out on you.

The plastic spur is a weak spot that's cheap and easy to replace. It's a lot easier to replace a spur than it is a cvd, differential or a gear in the trans. just my .02

I had the HPI steel brakes on my savage and they wore enough in a short while (less than a gallon) that they caused severe binding. I changed to the stock brakes and no it doesn't stop as quick, but it's cheaper to replace as well.

It should, if your currently using the OFNA 16T CB on your savage. Just make sure you don't try and run it with the HPI savage CB's. The HPI cb's are really soft steel and get chewed up fast if you don't run them against plastic spurs. I had one that only lasted 1 tank!

The RRP spur only comes with a CB as a package deal. I don't think you can buy it seperate anyway.

I just ordered the golden horizens steel spur gear? will that work? I hope so....
