Guys, My roommates are starting to get angry with my nitro tinkering taking over the dining room and have banished me to the Basement of our house. So to look on the bright side i'm going to attempt to turn that wreck of a room into a workshop to hold all this crap that i'm amassing with my new hobby. What are your workspaces like? :help:

Mine is in the garage. Works out better this way, I can just open the garage door and start up the r/c.

I have a relatively huge house, work my arse off to pay all the bills and I get a tiny portion of my big ass garage to work in...oh well I'm female pee pee whipped.

An entire basement would be really nice assuming you fixed it up of course. SOme basements are scary as some are very nice.

Peace

i have a room dedicated for fixing/cleaning my trucks and its pretty dirty and littered with carcasses of forgotten r/cs :ahem:

my bedroom is my workshop, i am very neat and not messy, so my room is pretty clean.

Well, being married with no kids and not wanting a house (to many bills), i use our dining room table. (apartment) I built a shelving system that matches our cupboards and tables that i put everything in and cover with closed doors.

It looks like a pantry, until you open it of course.

I use a portion of my basement which i finished for myself to be used as my hide out and tv room, which turned into my kids play room/ tv room. which turned into my wife's storage/kids play room and anything but my tv room.
I reclaimed my hide out once again....but just a small portion.
Now i have to build and fix my cars while being tagged in the back of the head with flying dodge balls and what ever other toys come at me when I'm not looking when the kids are in the basement.
this thread has just depressed me!!
It used to be all mine! now i'm reduced to a corner in my basement!! Like Bob frigin Kratchet for gods sake!!
:trashed:

I have run of the house. Have a understanding fiance. but I'm in the middle of building a 14x14 work room down in the basement. gona finish it off nice. TV. stereo etc.. so I can go off to my own corner and have fun.

and after you get married, it will make a nice playroom for the kids!! i promise you.
I used to be king of the castle, now I'm king of the corner in my basement.
The frigin dog has a bigger space than i do!!

lol... Your Prob right. Were getting married next Yr. so I have some time.. We have a huge walk up/in atic. same size as the 2nd floor that I'm thinking of finishing off. for just a Hobbie room. Pool table and arcade machine on one side.

My wife and I have a big enough house that I have an entire room dedicated to my hobby stuff which of course includes RC.

But I basically do my RC stuff where ever. As I sit here in the Family room on the laptop, I look around and I've got my Hyper 7 (new for Xmas okay early Xmas present) sitting on its box in front of the TV, my Mugen MBX4 is on the floor next to the the laptop, an unpainted but prepped SUT Hummer body for my Savage sits on the coffee table, a unpainted and still in package Hyper 7 body sits under the SUT body.

My wife is VERY good about indulging me in my hobbies...

I also do some work in the garage if its messy.

when you have children, that will all change. anything that doesn't get put away or left out around on the floor or in the living room becomes fair game for destruction.
I was working in my brand new TC3 kit and left it on the table, came home and it was packed with play dough. in the glow plug hole, in the carb..I didn't get the air cleaner on yet so it was jammed in there too.
All you funny guys all think you have the best wife or fiance, it will all change with children!!
Let this be a warning. the kids will come first in you wifes eyes.
my wife was the best before the kids came...
You'll see...ha ha ha ha you'll see!!!

The key word there is "when". Between working at the job that pays me and working at the hobby that i have a job for, there aren't enough hours in the day to worry about the kid issue. If a kid does spring up, it may most likely be the kid of the fed/ex guy or the ups guy who's been dropping off all my rc parts. It sure as hell won't be mine.

my workshop is just a little bench and table in the garage. haha my dad made it and bought a chair for me so i can just sit out their all peaceful. (I'm only 13) haha. it gets pretty cold out their.

I use a card table next to my computer desk. It is just the right size to work on two monster trucks side-by-side.

The kiddy gate usually keeps the three little ones away from the fun, but occasionally I find one of my screwdrivers strategically placed within the cooling head of one of my engines (my three year old's idea of helping daddy...)

Anyway, I use whatever room I need to. Sometimes the kitchen. Sometimes the garage. Mostly my den.

I'm kind of like you sky, but no kids. I have my wifes cats that like to help.

I posted some pics in my gallery of my "work area" or as my wife calls it "our dining room". I don't know why she makes a fuss, we eat on tv trays every night except for thanksgiving, then we use the dining room. I think she's mad because the maxx all tore apart for 3 days doesn't look as elegant as a pot of flowers she usually has on it... she just has poor taste is all.

Got to love apartment life.

Oh yeah, i posted a few pics of my other hobbies as well.

Don't get me started on the cat...or the dogs. The cat usually horks up a hairball in a strategic location within my den. Nothing like finding one when you sit down or happen to be walking around without shoes on.

The dogs like the tires. They make short work of the MT chew toys. That got stopped early on. Threats of death work well.
